Caleb looked from the voltage trace to the battery pack on Dot's bench. Its case was scored where the plates had driven against it, but the terminals were still attached.
"The draw comes from the chest node?"
"The node asks for power when that heat spike hits. The battery gives it. That's what the suit measured." Dot held the wrench against the pack to keep it from rolling. "It tells me about a circuit. You'll need the medical review for whatever started the heat."
Hunger pulled beneath his sternum while he studied the screen. He had eaten breakfast, and the right shoulder was still taking work just to hold the arm steady.
"Can you keep the whole suit from going dark?"
Dot brought a shunt from the parts drawer and laid it beside the Break-Tab rig.
"I isolate the chest-node feedback from the main battery. It can catch that demand before the rest of the weave tries to follow it. Separate encrypted log, so the bad event doesn't disappear inside the normal suit readings."
