Chapter 69 - The King of Time

How hard must it be to keep the whole world in check? Having the world playing to your tune while maintaining zero corruption, that must be impossible.

Flamé Hayfields, King of EgoSwords, the Hero of Telportation—Rex—and of course the Hero of Chaos and America's Ruin are the strongest. But the woman who killed America's ruin, conquered land during the Hero of Chaos' life, and has Flamé working under her on a lease is of course the King of Time. Simply known as Yeal.

The woman herself is tall, light green hair, purple eyes with a ticking clock within her irises and black horns that wrap both ways around her head. The outline of the woman is enough to know you lose. Not only has she created the database for all magic, but the majority of it was recorded from her own perspective.

The King of Time and President of the United Regions of Mila was a power house. Second only to that ever growing list of gods.

What could she possibly want or gain from Primé? I thought while standing outside a dark ulnarah wood door. It was mostly black but pulsed with blue magic. I breathed in one last time and opened the heavy door—It didn't strain my magical strength for at this point I was decently strengthy.

The room was dark except for a slime of light that illuminated a ulnarah table. The table was surrounded by chairs that all paid respect to the center chair housing the shadow of horns.

"Leo Priné. Universal Being, Planet Eater." She stood, the light hitting her properly to reveal her full appearance. "Destroyer."

"Excuse me mam, but I am not Primé." For some reason I laughed.

"So I've heard…"

She stepped around the table, the sun outside choosing that moment to shine brighter—coming out from behind a cloud. She wore a scowl, veins overlapped over her face in pairs of three—a sign someone can actually use positive karma—all three stressing not to burst.

"Tell me 'Estellé'. Who are you really." The veins bulged harder.

She had a choker on, a black oversize sweatshirt that was cut in the front showing a tight white shirt. Along the side of the black sweat shirt were checkered patterns separated three times by the black sweatshirt again. Her shirt had a grey pattern of rectangles on her right side and a black rib cage on her left.

I failed to answer her, in response, she stepped around the table, not making a noise as I saw the rest of her. Short black shorts opened up her legs that were the same tight white material with a waving black spinal column going down her legs.

"Who are you?"

"Heo, Estellé."

Her head lowered, the light missing her face. Her fists bawled up, and in an instant she was to me. Her body was towering over me. Her hair hit my face softly, smelling sweet. Her voice hit my ears from the side of my head.

"Primé," She hissed, "I'll kill you."

Before I even felt my magic decrease, Primé both shifted a hand out and was tossed across the room. A thunderous sound crashed through the room. The wood splintered in every direction. The chairs pushed toward the same side of the room as Primé.

Yeal's arm was thrown behind her back, her fingers shot out and the veins in her arms all stressing in pairs of three. She slowly leaned back from my ear. I looked up into her purple eyes. The clock ticked, again and again into my eyes.

The crater left at the end of the room poured orange magic out, each pulsing with energy before falling to the ground of the room before fading.

"P-primé?"

"Does she respawn if I kill him?" Her voice weighed me down.

"I- I don't know, miss." Her head craned, her horns casting shadows onto me.

From the crater a body limply pulled itself up. Worn in a black shadowy jacket. The black flame ripped off and danced around his body. Long white hair fell down to the middle of her back. Golden clips tangled around the hair and the black horns.

"Long time no see for you too." He smirked, covered in orange gushing magic holes.

He went to pull out a weapon, positive karma forming. Though that very same second Yeal had him pinned against the wall with her foot. Yeal's hand ripping the positive karma spell apart and absorbing it against her skin.

"Never figured out that trick of yours, but I can still overpower it."

"Seems like you actually can use that time magic-." His voice was put out like a weak flame.

"That was just speed that caught you, I know better than to use time against you, Universal Rat."

She held him up even higher, magic slowly draining to the floor and disappearing. My shock left me standing at the door before I realized the drain on my magic hurting him was having.

I quickly hurried over to them both, at a significantly slower pace. "Watch it." Yeal raised a hand in my direction.

"B-but." looking at the speed she was able to go at, my knowledge of how strong Primé is, and the fact I couldn't beat either I thought.

Yeal's knees buckled as she stumbled back. Primé's eyes went wide as he grasped at his mouth not to scream. In the same moment I ran and grabbed Primé, pulling him into my body. My magic mostly stayed, but at least a tenth was destroyed.

"Ok ok ok!" I stepped back from her. "I don't understand this beef of yours, but I'm not about to let you destroy my magic reserves to settle something between you two."

Yeal recovered from being flashed with Universal Destruction quicker than anyone has ever. Her eyes dilated, veins popping over her body.

As I blinked Rex stood in front of me, catching a punch from Yeal. "I thought I said no violence against Heo." He spoke, pulling his hand away.

"What'd he just do to me?" She pulled back, flicking her fist down.

"Universal Destruction…" I wobbled out.

Both of them turned towards me, eyes wide and mouths agape. "What!" They both said in unison.

"It only increases damage based on size. It can't actually destroy the universe." I spoke but they didn't say anything. "Y-you wrote the description."

"For Universal Being? I never wrote a damn thing for that. I have no idea how it works. All I know is Primé is the only person to ever have it." Her face scrunched at the name.

"What?" I took a step back and looked up at the two giants in front of me. "If you didn't write it, then why is it there?"

"I can only guess it was you." She pointed at me, her finger nails painted black and white.

Rex's hand went to block my body. I only now noticed his hand was leaking with blood from simply catching the punch from Yeal.

"She isn't your Primé. Quite obviously not."

She looked at me intensely. Then her eyes shut, reopening with the time freezing in her irises. The hour clock in her left eye stuck on nine and the minute stuck at fifty-nine. The veins in her arm and forehead disappeared. Her hands unclenched as she sighed.

"My name as you already know is Yeal, old friend and victim of Primé." She stretched her hand out, for the first time of me meeting her, not in a threatening way.

"Heo Estellé." I responded, taking her hand.

"See, no planet eater." Rex pointed.

"What exactly do you mean by victim?" I shifted back again.

"He killed me. To be honest with you, I don't know how I'm alive as we speak."

"Thats-" I stopped. "Why did he?"

"Love?" Primé spoke with my voice.

"Love!?" Yeal almost exploded again.

Rex's hand shifted up holding her back. "Do I need to remind you that you're the president?"

"No." She shifted back.

"I loved both of you, Yeal. No, all three of you guys."

"Yet the fool got into your head?"

"I'm sorry."

The President scoffed. "You better never show yourself alive again or I'll kill you."

Primé didn't respond. The room felt heavy. Rex shifted his gaze between us, before sighing heavily.

"Was this enough for you Yeal? This was such a waste of time, ironic for you."

"I found it plenty worth it. I got to watch him bleed." She shooed with her hand. "You may leave then. I have more important things to do than waste time on a rat."

…,

"What was all that for?" I asked as the door was shut.

"Have you ever talked with Primé about his past?" Rex looked down at me as we walked down the dark hallway outside the door.

"No."

"I don't know more than Yeal was dead at one point and it was Primé who killed her. Apparently he was able to 'eat planets.'" He gestured with his hands.

"Hmmm." I thought of love, of Āpala, and of my beloved cousin Stella. "What form of love did he mean?"

"My guess, Heo, there was a love triangle."

My jaw dropped, my world shattering. How does that even work, you can love three people?
