Chapter 22 - Good riddance

Narrator POV

"Good riddance. Well it's time to go take over the rest of this hell hole." Caro said to himself.

From here, Caro went to find General Black who had just finished looking under the desk in search of Commander Red. The confusion was rooted from sudden silence and the fact that maybe he was playing around as he does at times, Commander Red wasn't the most serious person at all times and he is short and capable of hiding but it made no sense to Black. Just as he looked up he seen an even shorter person standing at the other side of the desk. He blinked and the child wasn't there.

"I must be seeing things. Commander Red why are you playing these childish games with me?" General Black exclaimed then moved towards the door that the desk was facing.

"Hello there. I'm Caro and I am actually taking over the operations of this entire foundation effective immediately. You will be my main subordinate and I want you to be the face of the organization unless you would like to meet the short guy in the afterlife." Caro said politely and bluntly.

General Black pondered with bullets of sweat dripping from his face. This couldn't be serious is what he initially thought to himself and nearly damned the kid and laughed at him but he noticed blood all over the child alongside the exact cigar that was being smoked by Red at the exact same length and still well lit. This made Black believe everything he said despite how he felt about how ridiculous it sounded. He thought to himself he wasn't trying to be taking orders from a child but at the same time he did want the position to take over the Red Ribbon army which he would still answer to somebody but nobody would know it's not his own orders that he's making. It's not as bad as the fate of death to just throw his own pride to the side for the sake of himself and his men. "Ok, I'll do it but only if it's ok that I can inform my other colleague of mine that you are our superior." General Black said to Caro in thought of Generals.

General Blue wasn't really the most important person in thought but it was without a doubt he would be included. Caro nodded in agreement, it would probably be better this way since they all were wanting to reach higher chain in command and it would be strange for General Black to just declare himself the commander without reason unless he just did something slimey. "Call them to here now while you're at it, I just got the perfect idea." Caro demanded with a conniving smile a child his age typically wouldn't be able to make until they knew more about the world. General, now made Commander Black summoned Generals Blue and White to the office and as they appear, they are confused on the situation. Commander Black summed up the situation to them and Blue basically sat there staring at the boy and began to cackle at him like it was some sick joke.

"You think that I, General Blue, should believe this bullshit when you were already basically becoming a commander in the first place? Not only that but also follow this little fella? Over my dead body." General Blue said while White sat there in silence waiting for enough information to make a decision.

"Precisely that Mr. Blue, it is indeed over your dead body. I can't have you all being insubordinate and doing shit behind my back so I bring insurance." Caro replied baring fresh fangs he's never used and swiftly before anybody could flutter a blink all three of the men had blood running from their necks, rooting from bites that Caro suddenly gave them. The sensation of feeding on them was an ecstasy Caro could get addicted to if not for the sun empowering him everyday alongside water. He's held back on the vampiric side he has due to not dealing with anybody that wouldn't bow down or just are truly ignorant to real power. These normal humans were and they were the leaders to one of the biggest threats possible to Caro, Gero.

They all began to bare fangs themselves and raised as if it was very normal, Caro allowed them to be themselves as vampires but could monitor everything they do and even control them if need be, he did get stronger from this and is less famished than he ever has been in his second existence. They all knew exactly what Caro wanted from them and with that they dispersed. Caro himself decided to figure out how to not constantly watch, feel, think, hear, and taste what was going on in their perspectives and stay in his own due to the excess sensory he already possesses. It wasn't much of a challenge due to the training he's received but a challenge no less.

Caro appeared back with the Turtle/Crane school as if nothing happened in the last few minutes and he was wondering what Kami would think of him. It's not like he did anything evil that Kami hasn't already done to his own self or species. However that works. Caro went to make sure the peers he had were all in preparation for the months to come in regiment and in how they'd be coexisting with each other. With that being said, Caro caught up with Popo to head up to the hideout to finally confront this discussion with Kami about what his purpose is and intentions in all the strange things he's done.

Red Ribbon Army POV

"We share with you all a great loss and a great cause. Commander Red is no longer with us, however, we have a new commander." General White proclaimed to the crowd of scientists and militia in this large compound where they hold meetings.

"Red left in his last words that the commander would be Commander Black, and we should all treat his words as though they were Commander Red's himself." General Blue continued Whites words in perfect cue.

As the speech went on and celebration of life for their prior leader went on many whispers went on in the crowd. Many wondering how Red died so suddenly and others confused on how they were speaking so perfectly in unison when they were never ever in unison before.

"That can't be General Blue." Gero said to his son while the speech kept going. "He wouldn't ever just be so willing to allow Black to become leader so easily let alone would he be less delinquent or cooperate with White so easily. There's something very odd about this." He continued. Gevo looked at his dad like it was suspicious though it was happening still.

"Maybe the death of Red made this sort of event happen? There's no telling but as long as we can continue with the project this makes me no different." Dr. Flappe said with equal curiosity but zero concern for these tyrants he worked for.

"Good riddance." Vomi said boldly as everybody in the crowd and the speakers could hear her say this.
