Chapter 15 - Reverie

Sky slowly opened her eyes. She felt exhausted, her wrists still tied with a rope as she sat on an old wooden chair. As her vision became clear, she saw Reverie standing in front of her. She looked younger than the Reverie Sky Frost had known in her own world.

Reverie looked at her suspiciously.

"Who are you, and why were you following me?"

Sky Frost replied calmly, "I misunderstood you for someone else."

She looked at Reverie for a moment before asking,

"Do you know me?"

Reverie laughed softly.

"Are you some kind of important person that I should know you?"

She leaned slightly closer, her eyes turning cold.

"Don't follow me again, or next time... I'll kill you."

She untied the rope from Sky's wrists and stepped aside.

"Go."

Sky stood up slowly, rubbing her sore wrists. She looked around the room. It looked more like an old animal shelter than a prison. Without saying another word, she walked outside and wandered through the unfamiliar streets.

Looking around in confusion, she muttered to herself, "Where the hell am I? How am I supposed to return to my world? I'm unable to contact the real Reverie. How am I supposed to meet my team?

As she continued walking, she noticed several soldiers following her.

"Who are they?" she whispered.

She began walking a little faster, but the soldiers matched her pace.

"Now why the hell are they following me? Am I not even supposed to breathe properly? My life in the real world was already hell, and now it seems I have to suffer here too."

Without thinking any further, she broke into a run.

Before Sky could get any farther, seven soldiers suddenly surrounded her, blocking every possible escape. One of them smirked and said, "Where will you run, little mouse?"

Sky looked at them cautiously. "Who are you guys?"

One soldier grabbed her arm while another reached for her other hand with a rope. Sky struggled and fought back with all her strength, but there were seven tall, muscular soldiers, and she was no match for them alone. One of the soldiers slapped her so hard that blood appeared at the corner of her mouth, and her cheek instantly turned dark red. She lost her balance and fell to the ground.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she silently thought, I hope you could save me, Isra.

Without giving up, she quickly grabbed a handful of sand and threw it into the soldiers' faces. As they cried out in pain and covered their eyes, Sky seized the opportunity and ran as fast as she could.

She tried to run faster, but her foot caught on the ground and she stumbled. Before she could fall completely, Liam caught her, while Erika rushed to her side.

She looked up—and there he was, walking toward them from the front.

For a heartbeat, the entire world around her fell silent.

Her eyes widened in disbelief as they locked onto the familiar figure she had longed to see.

"Isra..." she whispered, the name slipping from her lips before she even realized she had spoken.

Isra finally reached them. The moment his eyes fell upon Sky's bruised face and the blood on her lips, the color of his eyes slowly began to change.

Sky Frost looked at him with sorrowful eyes. There were countless things she wanted to say, yet not a single word left her lips.

Without taking his eyes off her, Isra said to Liam, "Take care of her.

As he turned to leave, Sky instinctively reached out and held his hand.

"Please... don't go."

Isra paused for a brief moment but did not turn around.

"Liam take her home .

With those words, he walked away.

Liam looked at Sky gently.

"Let's go."

In the next instant, Liam and Erika vanished with Sky, and they arrived at Isak Raven Mansion.

Sky looked around in confusion as they arrived.

"How am I here? And why are we at Isak Raven Mansion?"

Liam and Erika explained everything that had happened while she had been away. After listening quietly, Sky looked at them and asked,

"How did you guys find me?"

"Isra did," Liam replied.

A faint smile appeared on Sky's face.

"Congratulations. Both you and Liam know magic."

Erika gently shook her head.

"Please don't laugh. You've suffered a lot."

They all walked into the grand hall and sat down. The butler quickly brought a box of medicine. Erika carefully applied the ointment to Sky's bruised cheek, making sure not to hurt her any further. A few moments later, the butler returned with food, and they quietly began eating together.

After a while, Sky broke the silence.

"When will Isra return?"

Liam took a sip of water before answering.

"After handling everything, he'll return tomorrow."

Sky looked at him with concern.

"How is he supposed to handle everything alone? You could have helped him. And why tomorrow?"

Liam smiled faintly.

"He never needs anyone's help. Whenever a problem like this arises, everyone turns to Isra."

He paused for a moment before continuing.

"And whenever he becomes truly angry, his eyes turn red. No one can stop him... not even me. It hasn't happened in the last twenty-five years."

Sky lowered her eyes, deep in thought.

"How can someone's eyes change color?" she wondered silently, but she didn't ask.

Instead, another thought weighed much heavier on her heart.

She wanted to see Isra.

For some reason, hearing that he wouldn't return until tomorrow made her heart ache in a way she couldn't understand.

She looked toward the window and whispered softly,

"Okay... we'll meet him tomorrow."

Then, almost to herself, she added,

"I hope he'll be okay "

After leaving them behind, Isra walked in silence until he reached the soldiers.

His expression was cold, and his voice carried a terrifying calm.

"Who laid a hand on her?"

The soldiers looked at one another before bursting into laughter.

One of them mocked him.

Isra's eyes remained fixed on them.

"Well... I intended to kill you all."

Before anyone could react, he drew his sword.

One by one, the soldiers fell before him.

Within moments, only one remained alive.

Isra grabbed him by the collar and looked into his terrified eyes.

"Who sent you?"

The soldier's entire body trembled.

"I... I don't know. A woman came to us and paid us. Please... spare my life."

He fell to his knees, begging desperately.

Isra looked at him without the slightest hint of mercy.

"I could have... but you touched the wrong person."

With a single strike, he ended the soldier's life.

Silence filled the battlefield.

Blood stained the ground beneath his feet.

Isra lowered his sword and spoke quietly to himself,

"Well... Siren doesn't wish to live anymore."

For a brief moment, he closed his eyes, allowing his anger to settle.

Then he looked toward the distant horizon.

"I have to see her."

In the next instant, he vanished without a trace.
