Chapter 168 - Chapter 165: Domain Expansion

Kakashi watched the scorching slash, his eyes narrowing. "Fire Nature Chakra? No, it's an attribute even hotter than that..."

"I can't take this head-on!"

He formed hand signs with both hands simultaneously, his chest swelling continuously.

"Water Breathing - Water Release: Water Encampment Wall!"

"Water Breathing - Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"

A massive stream of water erupted from his mouth, surging toward the slash, followed closely by a giant water dragon rising from the nearby river.

However, the moment the Water Encampment Wall touched the Flame Crescent, it was instantly evaporated by the high temperature, turning into a vast expanse of white mist in mid-air.

But this bought time for the water dragon to weaken the attack. As the water dragon and the slash collided violently, scorching firelight and water vapor exploded in a tangle, and the water dragon was almost entirely evaporated.

Only the weakened flame slash remained, still surging toward Kakashi with a searing momentum.

Kakashi narrowly dodged with a side roll. The slash grazed the hem of his clothes, carving a bottomless charred crack into the ground. The rocks sizzled from the heat, and the residual temperature even distorted the air.

"I didn't expect you to have a move like this. Truly terrifying!"

Kakashi patted his chest, lingering fear still in his heart.

This student was always full of surprises, with an endless variety of techniques.

Aoki Yoru replied, "The same goes for you, Kakashi-sensei. I didn't expect you to combine the Breathing Styles of all five natures so proficiently."

Aoki Yoru looked at Kakashi, who clearly still had strength left, and a smile of genuine interest appeared on his face.

"In that case, how will you break this move?"

His Chakra then exploded violently. He crossed the index and middle fingers of his right hand and said calmly:

"Domain Expansion: Thunder Hell Cage!"

Pale purple lightning soared into the sky, instantly weaving into an infinite Lightning Net in mid-air that firmly covered the entire field.

The ground trembled violently as countless Lightning Patterns spread frantically across the surface, burrowing into the soil like living vines, turning the entire area into a breeding ground for Lightning Nature Chakra.

In the next moment, torrential pillars of lightning poured down from the Lightning Net. The purple-white bolts struck down one after another, each blast creating deep craters and sending rocks flying, while the air was filled with the constant crackle of electricity.

The Lightning Patterns on the ground also lit up, as spikes of lightning erupted from the earth to meet the pillars from the sky. The entire battlefield was transformed into a violent lightning hell of simultaneous attacks from above and below, and even the light was dyed a blinding purple-white.

"What is this?"

Outside the field, Sakura spoke in stunned disbelief.

To put it bluntly, if she were inside that scene, she probably wouldn't survive.

Tsunade and Jiraiya also walked up to the Lightning Shroud, watching the scene inside with serious expressions. They felt a sense of threat.

Jiraiya reached out to touch the Lightning Shroud. The moment his fingertip brushed the Lightning Net, there was a crisp "crack," and pale purple current instantly surged up his arm from his finger.

His pupils shrank. The Chakra shield he had applied to his hand was torn open as easily as paper, and a charred burn mark was immediately seared into his palm.

He jerked his hand back, a numbing sting still lingering in his fingertips. His face darkened completely as he looked at the purple-glowing Lightning Net before him.

"This thing... can break through the Chakra on one's body?"

"An incredible technique. Kid Yoru is getting stronger and stronger."

Tsunade nodded. "This kid really makes one see him in a new light. This technique can be considered an S-rank Forbidden Jutsu."

Jiraiya then asked in confusion, "This kid's Chakra volume is far too massive. Is he also from the Uzumaki Clan?"

Tsunade knew that the white zetsu cells might be the reason, but she didn't say it aloud.

On the other side, Asuma and the others were all stunned, their mouths agape, not knowing what to say.

To put it bluntly, if they were inside this Lightning Shroud, they probably wouldn't be alive right now.

Even the usually carefree Choji forgot to eat his potato chips, asking blankly, "Asuma-sensei, is this even a Ninjutsu?"

In his fifteen years of life, he had never seen such an exaggerated technique formula.

Frankly, even his father wouldn't be able to hold out if he were here.

Asuma held his forehead, not knowing what to say. He couldn't very well lose face in front of his students.

Shikamaru, seeing his teacher's embarrassment, stepped in to smooth things over. "Choji, you can do it too. If you reach this level of strength, then Asuma will let you eat your fill of BBQ for the rest of your life."

Hearing about unlimited BBQ, Choji was immediately fired up, sparks flying from his eyes. "I will definitely work hard!"

Beside him, Ino gave him a look of disdain. "What an idiot."

Inside, Kakashi was already using his Lightning Style Armor to resist the surrounding electricity.

He said with a solemn expression, "An incredible technique. Even the moisture in the air is saturated with lightning."

"If I hadn't used the Lightning Style Armor in time to filter out the electricity in every breath, my internal organs would have been burned through."

"This Ninjutsu is enough to deal with 99% of Ninjas. If it were deployed in Konoha, very few people would be able to escape."

Aoki Yoru nodded. "Exactly. It was prepared for large-scale wars."

Previously, he lacked a Ninjutsu capable of destroying a village in one hit.

'Lightning Style: Kirin' was strong, but it required creating thunderclouds, which was too troublesome.

Besides, enemies wouldn't give him that opportunity.

So, he had modified his original 'Lightning Style: Lightning Protection Shroud' into its current form.

Of course, this was only possible after he reached the level of a Half-step Sage Body, as the Chakra consumption was far too great.

Now, this technique truly approached the Domain Expansion from Jujutsu Kaisen; it was no longer the half-baked version he had created just to act cool.

The longer one stayed in this technique, the faster they would die.

Every movement, every breath, even every pore of the skin was completely exposed to the omnipresent lightning.

If Kakashi didn't have a lightning attribute and hadn't used the Lightning Armor, his fate would have been sealed.

Other elemental Ninjutsu were even less effective, unless one could create a massive water sphere to break the situation like Kisame with his vast Chakra.

Space-type Ninjas like Minato Namikaze and Senju Tobirama were exceptions; they couldn't be trapped.

And of course, broken characters like Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara were beyond this; they could overpower anything with sheer strength.

In front of them, this Ninjutsu would be like a piece of paper that would burst with a single poke.

The First Hokage might even joke, 'I just took a lightning bath, and my whole body feels refreshed.'

"Now, let's continue with the second round."

Before the words had finished, the battle within the lightning hell restarted.

Aoki Yoru's figure blurred through the lightning, his blade carrying a sharp whistle that tore through the air. With every swing, the surrounding Lightning Net seemed to come alive, transforming into curving Lightning Snakes that lunged at Kakashi from all directions.

Kakashi's Lightning Style Armor emitted a continuous crackling sound within the domain. While parrying Aoki Yoru's rapid slashes with his short blade, he also had to divide his attention to deal with the Lightning Pillars and Lightning Snakes striking from the ground and mid-air. His defense was being pressed airtight.

His Sharingan spun frantically, constantly predicting Aoki Yoru's sword path and the trajectories of the lightning strikes.

Aoki Yoru, combined with the omnipresent lightning, left Kakashi in a sorry state, barely able to fend off his offensive.

Outside the field, Naruto said with a worried face, "Kakashi-sensei isn't going to lose like this, is he?"

Beside him, Sakura said firmly, "No way. Kakashi-sensei might be a bit low on stamina, but he will definitely find a way."
