Chapter 11 - Grizzly Bear

"Such bizarre strength"

Ethan slowly stood up.

"Truly terrifying."

He straightened his body and looked down at his arm.

His hand was shaking.

Even his leg was trembling.

"I'm scared."

He paused.

"But at the same time"

A smile slowly appeared on his face.

"I'm actually excited."

"I am."

Ethan suddenly ran toward the Grizzly Bear.

The enormous creature didn't move.

It simply stood there with one massive paw raised, waiting for Ethan to get close enough for it to smash him into the ground.

Ethan continued running.

But just before reaching it, he suddenly turned sideways.

He moved quickly around the creature.

His eyes caught sight of the gigantic axe lying on the ground.

The Lord Minotaur's axe.

Ethan immediately ran toward it and picked it up.

"Yes."

He gripped the massive weapon.

"Why don't we just get this started?"

The Grizzly Bear turned toward him.

It snarled.

"RAAAH!"

Ethan lowered his body.

Then he started running.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

His footsteps echoed through the dungeon.

The Grizzly Bear charged toward him as well.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Ethan tightened his grip on the axe.

He pulled it backward as he approached the Grizzly Bear.

The creature was already aware of the weapon.

This wasn't its first time seeing the axe.

As Ethan swung it toward the Grizzly Bear, the creature raised one of its massive paws.

BANG!

Its paw struck the underside of the axe and knocked it upward.

Ethan's eyes widened.

"It parried it?"

He immediately jumped backward.

But the Grizzly Bear didn't give him a chance to recover.

It rushed toward him and raised its paw.

It was about to strike.

Ethan smiled.

"Psych!"

He suddenly raised the axe.

The weapon had been knocked upward, but Ethan used the momentum.

He swung it downward at incredible speed.

WHOOSH!

SLASH!

The gigantic axe cut straight through the Grizzly Bear's arm.

"AH!"

Ethan shouted.

The Grizzly Bear roared in pain.

It tried to attack him with its remaining arm.

Ethan didn't hesitate.

He swung the axe again.

SLASH!

Its other arm was cut off.

Ethan let out another shout as he moved forward.

He raised his left hand.

The Grizzly Bear was still standing.

But Ethan was already within reach.

"It's mine already."

He smiled.

His hand touched the Grizzly Bear.

Then

[God Touch ability activated.]

A notification appeared before his eyes.

[User has acquired: Grizzly Bear Full Strength.]

Another notification appeared.

[User has acquired: Air Slash.]

Ethan's eyes widened.

He smiled.

[Ability: Predator Instinct acquired.]

[Ability: Light Healing acquired.]

[Ability: Earthquake Slam acquired.]

His eyes widened as his level increased from three to four.

As he looked at the dead mother Grizzly Bear, he raised his fist into the air.

"Yes," he said as he breathed out.

He then fell onto the ground.

"Damn it."

"This is scary and, at the same time, extremely exciting. The worst part is that I don't even know what's going to happen."

He stood up and looked at the other baby Grizzly Bear, which was terrified. The moment their eyes met, the cub turned and fled.

"Well, I didn't mean to kill your mom or anything. Well, that's not even my concern," he said.

"I have to take its core, because that's the only way. And a single core from this should at least give me enough money for things to change when I'm back on the surface."

He took out the axe and walked toward the dead Grizzly Bear.

He cut open its body and took out its core, then put it into his pocket.

"No."

He then moved toward the second Grizzly Bear, the one that was already dead.

He took out its core as well.

"But let me keep moving forward," he said.

He picked up the axe, rested it on his shoulder, and continued moving forward.
