Hermione nearly died from fright.
The moment Snape snatched the parchment from her desk, her entire body froze.
Because the note Lucas had passed her earlier had not been polite in the slightest.
In fact, he'd directly referred to Snape as an "old bat."
Hermione immediately closed her eyes in despair, already imagining Gryffindor losing another hundred points while Lucas got dragged into detention until graduation.
But instead of exploding in fury, Snape merely glanced at the parchment briefly before tossing it back onto Hermione's desk.
She blinked in confusion.
The parchment was completely blank.
Not a single word remained.
Of course, this was Lucas's doing.
The moment he'd passed the note over earlier, he'd already prepared for the possibility of Snape discovering it. Rather than using ordinary ink, he'd written the words temporarily using controlled magical energy.
Once Hermione finished reading, he simply withdrew the magic.
Naturally, the writing vanished instantly.
This sort of delicate magical control was something no ordinary first-year could achieve.
Snape's black eyes narrowed dangerously.
"You passed Miss Granger a blank piece of parchment?" he asked coldly.
Lucas met his gaze calmly.
"Professor, as far as I know, lending parchment to a classmate does not violate classroom rules."
Snape stared at him in complete silence for nearly ten full seconds.
The dungeon atmosphere became unbearably tense.
Finally, Snape spoke in his hollow voice again.
"Since you seem so eager to help your classmates…" His eyes gleamed dangerously. "Perhaps you would like to answer the questions I asked Potter."
Draco Malfoy immediately began snickering again.
Ever since Lucas humiliated him before school started, Malfoy had desperately wanted revenge. Unfortunately, Lucius Malfoy had strictly forbidden him from provoking Lucas directly.
Now that Snape himself had started targeting Lucas, Draco felt absolutely delighted.
Meanwhile, Harry and Ron weren't worried at all.
Honestly, they had complete faith in Lucas academically.
Despite constantly sleeping during lessons, there still didn't seem to be any subject capable of defeating him.
Harry privately suspected Lucas could probably graduate immediately and return next week as a professor.
Without hesitation, Lucas answered calmly.
"Powdered asphodel added to an infusion of wormwood creates a powerful sleeping potion known as the Draught of Living Death."
"A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat. It acts as a powerful antidote against most poisons."
"And monkshood and wolfsbane are the same plant. Both are also known as aconite."
For Lucas, this was basically an open-book exam.
With his Potions mastery, even if Snape suddenly started asking NEWT-level questions, Lucas still wouldn't panic.
Then suddenly, a dangerous thought appeared in his mind.
Before his survival instincts could stop him, he casually added:
"Incidentally, Professor, asphodel is a type of lily. Its flower meaning is connected to love, while wormwood symbolises regret and suffering…"
"Enough!"
Snape exploded.
His sudden roar shocked the entire classroom into silence.
The dungeon temperature seemed to plummet instantly.
Everyone stared at Snape in disbelief.
His expression looked genuinely terrifying now.
And the way he was staring at Lucas…
…it was like looking at a monster.
Meanwhile, Lucas sat there with a completely innocent expression while internally screaming.
The internet analysts were right?!
Back in his previous life, Lucas had once seen an elaborate analysis explaining the hidden meaning behind Snape's questions to Harry.
According to the theory:
Asphodel belonged to the lily family, connecting it symbolically to Lily Potter.
The Draught of Living Death represented unbearable regret and grief.
Combined together, Snape's question supposedly carried a hidden message:
"I bitterly regret Lily's death."
At the time, Lucas had assumed fans were wildly overanalysing things.
But judging from Snape's current reaction…
Maybe they weren't.
Snape took a slow breath, visibly trying to regain control.
"This," he hissed coldly, "is Potions class."
"If you wish to discuss flowers and symbolic meanings, perhaps you should visit Professor Sprout instead."
His eyes sharpened dangerously.
"Or perhaps your troll-sized brain cannot comprehend the true subtlety of potion-making."
The classroom remained deathly silent.
Snape suddenly stepped closer and planted both hands on Lucas's desk.
Then he leaned down until only Lucas could properly hear him.
"Boy," Snape whispered coldly, "do not try clever tricks with me."
His black eyes felt sharp enough to cut skin.
"I will be watching you very carefully."
Then Snape spun away dramatically, his black robes billowing behind him like giant bat wings.
"Lucas Summers knew the answers," he announced loudly, "yet deliberately failed to assist Potter immediately. Furthermore, he interrupted class with irrelevant nonsense."
"Fifty points from Gryffindor."
Lucas immediately wanted to slap himself.
Why did he have such a loose mouth?
Professor McGonagall had spent days painstakingly farming points for Gryffindor, and Snape had erased everything within five minutes.
Beside him, Kassandra quietly tried comforting him.
"It's fine," she whispered. "Hermione and I can easily earn those points back from other professors."
Then she hesitated slightly.
"But… what did those flower meanings mean exactly? Why did Snape get so angry?"
Lucas's survival instincts activated instantly.
"Ah." He coughed awkwardly. "The lily meaning involved love or something. I glanced at you accidentally while talking, then my brain stopped functioning and I said it without thinking."
Kassandra froze.
Then her face turned scarlet almost instantly.
Hermione hurriedly tugged on Lucas's sleeve desperately.
Lucas looked up.
Snape was still staring at him.
His danger sense exploded.
Lucas immediately lowered his head just in time for a textbook to fly through the air behind him and smash directly into Ron's skull instead.
Potions class finally continued afterward.
Snape paired students together and instructed them to brew a simple Cure for Boils potion.
Throughout the lesson, he stalked around the classroom like an oversized vampire bat, criticising nearly every Gryffindor student he encountered.
Then disaster struck.
A loud hissing sound suddenly erupted nearby.
Lucas turned his head instantly.
Neville Longbottom had somehow managed to melt Seamus Finnigan's cauldron into a twisted lump of metal.
Before the boiling potion could splash across the floor completely, Lucas flicked his wand subtly and cleared most of it away.
Unfortunately, Neville still wasn't fast enough.
The potion splashed directly across his arm.
Painful red boils immediately erupted all over his skin.
Neville screamed.
"Idiot!" Snape roared furiously. "You clearly added the porcupine quills before removing the cauldron from the fire!"
Then his head snapped toward Harry.
"Potter! Why didn't you warn him?"
Harry looked utterly stunned.
"Did watching him fail make you feel superior?"
"Ten more points from Gryffindor."
Across the room, Malfoy snickered loudly again.
Honestly, almost every Gryffindor student—including Lucas—had been attacked mercilessly by Snape throughout class.
Only Draco received praise.
Lucas narrowed his eyes slightly.
While Snape's attention remained focused elsewhere, Lucas's fingers moved subtly beneath the desk.
An untreated snake fang sitting harmlessly on Malfoy's workstation suddenly rolled silently into Draco's cauldron.
One second later—
BOOM!
Malfoy's cauldron exploded violently.
