Chapter 76 - Chapter 76 – The Halloween Troll Falls

The Great Hall had been transformed completely for Halloween.

Thousands of enchanted bats fluttered wildly beneath the enchanted ceiling, swooping across the hall in chaotic black waves.

Despite knowing they were fake, Lucas still found the sheer number mildly overwhelming.

Meanwhile, enormous piles of food appeared across the long tables.

The students instantly entered full feast mode.

Lucas stared thoughtfully at a roasted potato still wearing its skin.

At some point, he really needed to visit the Hogwarts kitchens and investigate exactly what culinary crimes the house-elves considered acceptable.

Then suddenly—

"TROLLS!"

Professor Quirrell burst into the Great Hall screaming hysterically.

"In the dungeons! I thought you ought to know!"

Then he dramatically collapsed unconscious directly in front of Dumbledore.

The Hall exploded into panic instantly.

Students screamed.

Several plates shattered.

Some Hufflepuffs nearly crawled under the tables.

Dumbledore rose immediately.

"Silence!"

His magically amplified voice thundered across the Hall instantly calming everyone.

"Prefects," he ordered sharply, "escort your Houses back to their dormitories immediately."

As the students began moving out in nervous lines, Harry and Ron suddenly froze.

"Hermione," Harry whispered.

She was still crying somewhere alone.

The two exchanged panicked looks before quietly slipping away from the crowd.

At that exact moment, Harry suddenly remembered Lucas's words from earlier.

Tonight.

Don't hold back.

Harry's heart began pounding.

Oddly enough, he didn't feel fear.

Instead, excitement burned hot in his chest.

Behind him, Lucas watched Harry and Ron disappear from the line before smiling faintly.

Then he casually took Kassandra's hand.

"Interested in seeing a troll?" he asked.

Kassandra immediately smiled.

"Obviously."

Meanwhile, deep inside the girls' bathroom—

BOOM!

A gigantic troll nearly twelve feet tall smashed another sink apart with its wooden club.

The bathroom already looked like a battlefield.

Broken pipes sprayed water everywhere.

Cracked tiles covered the floor.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione stood opposite the monster looking increasingly desperate.

Ron watched in complete shock as Harry and Hermione repeatedly cast powerful spells he'd never even heard before.

"Bone Breaker!"

"Reducto!"

"Depulso!"

Spell after spell slammed into the troll.

Unfortunately…

The creature's thick stone-like skin resisted magic absurdly well.

Harry quickly realised something horrifying.

Even with Lucas's training, they still couldn't overpower a full-grown mountain troll directly.

Their attacks only created shallow wounds while making the troll even angrier.

The monster roared furiously and charged.

The three students retreated desperately.

Unfortunately, despite its size, the troll moved terrifyingly fast.

Ron clenched his wand tightly beside them.

But he couldn't do anything useful.

And he hated that feeling.

The troll suddenly swung its massive club sideways.

"DOWN!"

All three dove desperately onto the wet floor.

The club smashed through several sinks behind them violently.

Harry's wand flew from his hand during the dodge.

The troll lumbered toward them slowly now.

Its tiny eyes burned with rage.

Hermione's body trembled violently.

Earlier, during the fighting, she'd temporarily forgotten fear entirely.

But now…

Now they were trapped.

And powerless.

She stepped backward instinctively.

Then suddenly—

A warm hand pressed gently against her shoulder from behind.

"Don't be afraid," Lucas said softly.

"You three already did very well."

The calmness in his voice instantly settled their panic.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione spun around immediately.

Lucas stood there beside Kassandra casually.

The troll noticed two more small humans appearing nearby.

Apparently, it took this personally.

With an enraged roar, it charged again swinging its club wildly.

Kassandra stepped forward first.

Her wand flashed brilliantly.

A bolt of lightning exploded outward and struck the charging troll directly in the chest.

CRACK!

The troll staggered backward several steps.

Smoke rose from its scorched skin.

Now truly furious, it roared again and charged once more.

Lucas finally moved.

His wand flicked lightly downward.

The floor shattered violently.

Three enormous stone giants clawed their way upward from the cracked earth beneath the bathroom.

Each stood nearly as tall as the troll itself.

The moment they fully emerged, the stone giants charged silently toward the monster.

The troll swung its club desperately and smashed one giant's head apart instantly.

But the stone construct ignored the damage completely.

All three giants tackled the troll simultaneously and slammed it violently into the floor.

The creature struggled madly beneath them.

It couldn't escape.

Lucas walked forward calmly.

His wand moved gracefully through the air like a conductor directing an orchestra.

Broken stone fragments rose around him silently.

Then the rubble twisted and transformed.

Silver swords.

Hundreds of them.

"Go."

The blades shot downward instantly.

SCHK! SCHK! SCHK!

Sword after sword pierced through the troll's body.

The monster screamed in agony while struggling beneath the stone giants.

Then several blades drove directly through its skull.

The troll finally stopped moving.

Silence filled the ruined bathroom.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione stared blankly at the scene before them.

The difference felt almost unreal.

The three of them had nearly died fighting the troll moments earlier.

Meanwhile Lucas had killed it effortlessly without even dirtying his robes.

Then hurried footsteps echoed through the corridor outside.

Professor McGonagall appeared first around the corner.

Snape followed immediately behind her.

Quirrell stumbled after them looking pale and frightened.

The moment Quirrell saw the troll pinned beneath countless silver swords, fear flashed visibly across his face.

Because he recognised that attack.

Inside the Forbidden Forest, he'd nearly been impaled exactly the same way.

Quirrell's legs weakened instantly.

He collapsed onto the floor trembling.

Nobody knew whether he feared Lucas…

Or feared Voldemort punishing him later for failing again.

Snape stared at the dead troll in stunned silence.

Then his eyes slowly shifted toward Lucas.

Shock filled them completely.

Until now, Snape already knew Lucas possessed terrifying Dark Arts talent.

But now—

His Transfiguration was equally monstrous.

Stone giants.

Mass weapon transfiguration.

Perfect battlefield control.

The boy was becoming dangerous far too quickly.

A terrifying thought entered Snape's mind.

If Lucas Summers ever truly walked down the wrong path…

The entire wizarding world might kneel beneath him one day.

Dumbledore, Snape thought grimly, you are playing with fire.

Professor McGonagall finally snapped out of her shock first.

"What," she demanded sharply, "is going on here?"

Her eyes swept across the students.

"Why aren't you safely inside your dormitories?"

Hermione immediately stepped forward weakly.

"Professor, it's my fault—"

But Lucas interrupted smoothly.

"Hermione was already in the bathroom earlier and never heard the troll warning."

He pointed calmly toward Harry and Ron.

"These two came looking for her because they were worried."

"Unfortunately, they encountered the troll before they could return for help."

Then Lucas shrugged casually.

"As for me, I noticed Harry and Ron sneaking away from the student line earlier."

"I thought they might do something reckless."

McGonagall looked toward Kassandra next.

Kassandra immediately spread her hands innocently.

"Professor," she said calmly, "you know me."

"Wherever Lucas goes, I go."

Professor McGonagall: "…"

She stared silently at the troll obviously defeated through advanced Transfiguration.

Honestly, part of her felt furious.

Another part felt deeply proud.

Finally, she cleared her throat stiffly.

"…Very well."

"Under the circumstances…"

"Five points each to Gryffindor."

"Very few first-year students could survive against a fully grown mountain troll."

She paused briefly.

"I'll inform Professor Dumbledore personally."

Then McGonagall hurried everyone away immediately before Snape recovered enough to deduct points for something.

Fortunately, Snape remained too lost in his own thoughts to notice.

At this moment, he had only one overwhelming conclusion.

He absolutely needed to speak with Dumbledore.
