Chapter 9 - Becoming A Beast Tamer (Chapter 9)

Anant smiled lightly and said, "It was interesting."

After hearing her son's answer, Sylvia let out a quiet sigh of relief. She had no idea what exactly had happened inside the library, but from his calm expression and composed tone, she assumed things had gone at least above average.

And more importantly She had already spoken to her husband. That alone was enough to ease her worries for now. A gentle smile appeared on her face.

"Come, come. I have prepared food," Sylvia said warmly.

It was not as if the Vatsya Mansion lacked servants. In fact, it had more than enough maids and butlers to handle every possible task.

However there was a particular reason why she chose to do this herself.

Whenever a descendant entered the book for the first time, their body and mind would go through a subtle strain. It was not dangerous, but interacting with outsiders immediately after returning could cause discomfort, sometimes even making the child slightly ill.

This effect usually lasted for three to five hours. So, for that duration only close family members stayed near.

"Un." Anant responded softly and followed her.

Mother and son spent some time together. They chatted casually while eating. Anant explained what he had experienced inside the book... or rathe, he explained only what other descendants usually saw.

Nothing more.

Time passed peacefully. Two years slipped by almost unnoticed.

Anant had now become a five-year-old boy.

During these two years, he trained consistently mastering Sword stances And basic swordplay. He mastered them flawlessly. At least to the level expected of a child his age.

Like in typical noble households, he was also assigned personal attendants.

A personal maid— A six-year-old girl.

And a personal butler— A ten-year-old boy.

Life followed a structured routine. But beneath that calm surface, Anant continued to progress.

He had successfully learned to sense mana.In this fragile, slow-paced, complex, and somewhat strange world that alone was a significant achievement.

Yet, something remained unresolved.

His memory of the first day was still vivid.

That egg.

The one that had appeared inside his consciousness.

The one that had entered his body through his forehead.

Even after two years, he could not sense it. Not even a trace.

He had entered the book multiple times since then.

But, He was never taken back to the restricted sub-space.

The place where the two dragons resided.

Instead, He only saw the standard projections.

"What other descendants usually saw."

At normal speed. Nothing unusual. Nothing extraordinary.

It was also worth noting that Anant never again performed like he did on his first day.

His assessments Were average. His responses were normal. Nothing that would draw attention.

Though internally he possessed deep knowledge about the Vatsya bloodline and even fragments of the empire's history.

Still, from an external perspective, he remained just another child.

Because of this, Duke Babasahab Felix Vatsya made a decision.

He arranged personal tutors for Anant.

For five years, He was taught: History,

,Geography, Literature, Multiple languages

,Politics ,Evolution, Study of Demons, Monsters, Beasts, and Demi-humans etc.

Alongside this, he also received a swordsmanship instructor.

A second-hand guard of the Duke himself.

Under that training— Anant's swordsmanship advanced from basic to intermediate, even approaching advanced levels in certain aspects.

Though, there were still gaps. And his growth eventually slowed.

Time moved forward.

And soon, Anant reached the age of ten. The age of Awakening. The legitimate age for ceremony.

Though the ceremony was meant only for family members, the outside world was far from uninvolved.

Though Beyond the estate, People had gathered including Spies, Hidden guards, Merchants, Even members from neighboring duchies— sent under various pretexts.

Because, every awakening in the Vatsya lineage mattered.

"Hm, hmm. Preparations are complete." Duke Babasahab Felix spoke calmly. "The ceremony shall commence on the fifth day from now."

He ordered his butler to announce the news across the duchy.

Excitement spread.

And just like that, Five days passed.

On the day of the awakening ceremony, The family gathered in the ancestral hall.

Every member was present.

Even those studying at the academy had returned.

One by one, They took their seats.

Only two remained standing.

The Duke, Who would perform the ceremony.

And Anant, the one who would awaken.

Duke Felix lit a lamp using a matchstick.Anant followed. Lighting his own lamp.

The Duke placed his lamp before the statue of the ancient god Babasaheb, Then sat down.

Anant sat beside him. Placing his own lamp carefully on the floor.

Everything had already been prepared. All the required materials were arranged nearby.

The ceremony began.

Duke Felix picked up a bowl of water. He placed a few drops onto his hand.

Then, He began chanting. The atmosphere changed. Time seemed to slow. The air grew heavier. Moments passed.

Then, Duke Felix picked up a piece of paper. He burned it. The ash rose into the air And drifted toward Anant.

As each fragment touched him, Anant felt something entering his mind.

Knowledge.

Not forced Nor overwhelming. But precise and Structured.

After a few moments, The flames of the lamps flickered.

Then dimmed.

Smoke rose. And began to form words, In the common language.

Duke Felix read them aloud. "Beast Tamer — Grade M."

His voice echoed beyond the hall. Loud enough for maids and butlers to hear, And spread the news.

Shock spread instantly.

It was the first time— Someone had awakened at M Grade.

Most people misunderstood it.

They assumed— "M Grade" meant "M Rank."

But Anant Knew better.

Because the knowledge had already settled in his mind.

Rank and Grade Were entirely different.

Rank (lowest to highest):

E → D → C → B → A → S

Grade (lowest to highest):

Bronze (B) → Silver (S) → Gold (G) → Platinum (P) → Mythic (M) → Divine (D)

'Beast Tamer… Mythic Grade, huh.'

Anant thought calmly.

And then, in front of him A familiar interface appeared.

A virtual display.
