The crimson light above Plush City became brighter, turning the night sky into an eerie sea of red. Buildings trembled throughout the city as the enormous Gate beneath the military headquarters continued expanding, its presence spreading across the entire area. Soldiers rushed through the streets while military Awakeners attempted to establish defensive positions around the headquarters, but nobody understood what they were actually preparing to fight.
Inside the emergency command room, Reiji stared at the system notification floating before his eyes.
[Unknown Gate detected.]
[Location: Plush City.]
[Rank: Unidentifiable.]
His expression remained calm, but his mind was moving rapidly. An unknown Gate had appeared beneath Plush City, and whatever had opened it knew about him, knew about the system, and had just claimed that Reiji was the one who escaped.
There were too many questions.
Unfortunately, the system wasn't giving him any answers.
Reiji tried opening his status.
