Chapter 50 - Happiness after Pain

Chapter 50-FINAL CHAPTER — A FAIRY TALE AFTER ALL

Months had passed since the night that changed everything.

The snow had melted.

The blood had been washed from the white ground.

The headlines had eventually stopped.

And the world had slowly learned to breathe again.

Lucy had survived.

Not easily.

Not quickly.

But she had survived.

There were still scars on her body, memories that sometimes returned without warning, and nights when she woke from nightmares with her heart racing.

But she was alive.

And every morning she woke up, she reminded herself of that.

She was alive.

She was loved.

And she was no longer running.

---

The evening sun poured through the windows of the Hanuel home.

Lucy stood in front of the mirror, brushing her long dark hair.

She looked different.

Not because she had changed completely.

But because there was something in her eyes that hadn't been there before.

Strength.

Peace.

She touched the small scar near her shoulder.

For a moment, the memory came back.

Snow.

A gunshot.

Kim Jo screaming her name.

She closed her eyes.

Then she heard a voice behind her.

"Still thinking too much?"

Lucy opened her eyes.

Kim Jo stood in the doorway.

He was smiling.

She turned around.

"Jimmy."

He smiled wider.

There it was.

That name.

The name he had loved from the very first time she called him that.

"Come here."

Lucy walked toward him.

He opened his arms.

She stepped into them.

For a few seconds, neither spoke.

Kim Jo simply held her.

He kissed the top of her head.

"You okay?"

"I'm okay."

"Really?"

Lucy nodded.

"Really."

He pulled away slightly and looked into her eyes.

"You know you can tell me when you're not."

"I know."

"And you know I'm always here."

"I know that too."

She smiled.

"You worry too much."

Kim Jo gasped dramatically.

"Me?"

"Yes."

"After everything that happened, you think I worry too much?"

Lucy laughed.

"You do."

He stared at her for a moment.

Then he smiled.

"I have a reason."

"What reason?"

"I love you."

Her smile softened.

"I love you too."

Kim Jo took her hand.

"I want you to come somewhere with me tomorrow."

"Where?"

"It's a surprise."

Lucy narrowed her eyes.

"Jimmy..."

"Don't ask."

"Is it dangerous?"

"No."

"Are you sure?"

He laughed.

"Very sure."

She studied his face.

"You look suspicious."

"I'm offended."

Lucy laughed again.

And Kim Jo smiled.

Because that laugh was one of the things he had nearly lost.

And he would never take it for granted again.

THE CONCERT

The following evening, the stadium was overflowing.

Thousands of fans had gathered.

Light sticks filled the arena like stars.

The BVS Kings stood backstage, preparing for the biggest concert of their comeback tour.

Lee Dae adjusted his jacket.

"Are you nervous?"

Kim Jo looked at him.

"No."

Seo Joon laughed.

"He's lying."

Kim Jo glared at him.

"I'm not nervous."

Lee Dae smiled.

"Your hands are shaking."

Kim Jo looked down.

His fingers were trembling slightly.

Seo Joon laughed harder.

"I knew it!"

Kim Jo sighed.

"You two are supposed to support me."

"We are supporting you," Lee Dae said.

"By laughing?"

"Exactly."

Kim Jo shook his head.

Then his expression became serious.

"Tonight has to be perfect."

Seo Joon looked at him.

"It will be."

Kim Jo looked toward the stage.

"I've imagined this moment so many times."

Lee Dae understood immediately.

"Are you sure?"

Kim Jo nodded.

"Completely."

Seo Joon placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Then go get your girl."

Kim Jo smiled.

"My girl."

He repeated the words softly.

Then the stage manager shouted.

"Places!"

The lights went dark.

The stadium erupted.

The BVS Kings walked onto the stage.

The crowd screamed.

Music exploded through the speakers.

Thousands of lights moved like waves.

Kim Jo smiled.

But tonight, there was something different about him.

He kept looking toward one particular section.

Lucy was there.

She sat among the invited guests, watching him.

She had no idea what was coming.

At least...

She thought she didn't.

---

The concert continued.

Song after song.

Dance after dance.

Kim Jo sang.

Lee Dae performed.

Seo Joon interacted with the crowd.

The atmosphere became electric.

Then, after their final song, the music stopped.

The lights slowly dimmed.

The audience screamed.

Kim Jo walked toward the center of the stage.

"Everyone..."

The crowd quieted slightly.

Kim Jo held the microphone.

"There is something I want to say tonight."

Lucy looked at him.

Her heart began beating faster.

Kim Jo smiled.

"When I first met Lucy, I never imagined she would become the most important person in my life."

The stadium became silent.

"She didn't know who I was."

He laughed softly.

"She didn't care about my money."

The audience laughed.

"She didn't even care that I was famous."

Kim Jo looked toward Lucy.

"She simply saw me."

His voice softened.

"And somehow, she made me feel like being Kim Jo was enough."

Lucy covered her mouth.

Her eyes were already filling with tears.

Kim Jo continued.

"Our story hasn't been easy."

The crowd became quiet again.

"We've been hurt."

"We've been separated."

"We've been misunderstood."

"We've been afraid."

He paused.

"But through everything..."

His eyes never left Lucy.

"She came back to me."

Lucy began crying.

Kim Jo stepped down from the stage.

The crowd gasped.

Security immediately moved, but Kim Jo signaled them to stay back.

He walked directly toward Lucy.

She stood.

"Jimmy..."

He stopped in front of her.

Then he reached into his pocket.

Lucy froze.

The entire stadium seemed to stop breathing.

Kim Jo slowly lowered himself onto one knee.

The crowd exploded.

Lucy covered her mouth.

"No..."

Kim Jo smiled through his tears.

"Lucy."

She was crying now.

He opened the ring box.

Inside was a beautiful diamond ring.

"This isn't the first time I've asked you to marry me."

The crowd became silent again.

"And I know the first time wasn't the way it should have been."

Kim Jo looked down for a moment.

"I asked you to become my wife when the world around us was already becoming too loud."

He looked back at her.

"This time, there is no pressure."

"No fear."

"No one forcing you."

"No one deciding for you."

"Just me."

He held the ring toward her.

"And you."

His voice trembled.

"So, Lucy..."

He smiled.

"Will you marry me?"

Lucy cried harder.

For several seconds, she couldn't speak.

Kim Jo waited.

He didn't rush her.

He didn't beg.

He simply waited.

Finally, Lucy laughed through her tears.

"Yes."

The stadium erupted.

Kim Jo's eyes widened.

"Yes?"

Lucy nodded.

"Yes, Jimmy!"

Kim Jo stood so quickly that he nearly lost his balance.

The crowd laughed and screamed.

Lucy held out her hand.

Kim Jo carefully slid the ring onto her finger.

She looked down at it.

Then she looked at him.

"It's beautiful."

He whispered,

"Not as beautiful as you."

She laughed.

"Still trying to make me blush?"

"Always."

She threw her arms around him.

Kim Jo hugged her tightly.

The audience erupted into applause.

The giant screens showed them embracing.

Across the world, fans watched.

Some cried.

Some screamed.

Some simply smiled.

The woman everyone had once feared they had lost was standing on that stage again.

Alive.

Smiling.

Wearing Kim Jo's ring.

Kim Jo whispered into her ear.

"You said yes."

Lucy laughed.

"I did."

"You're really going to marry me?"

She pulled away and looked into his eyes.

"Yes."

Then she whispered the name that had always belonged to him.

"Jimmy."

He smiled.

"That's my favorite name."

"I know."

---

THE WEDDING DAY

Months later, the morning arrived.

The wedding day.

But it wasn't just Kim Jo and Lucy's wedding.

It was also Lee Dae and Paige's wedding.

Two couples.

One celebration.

One unforgettable day.

The venue looked like something from a dream.

White flowers covered the entrance.

Soft lights hung from the trees.

Long tables were decorated with crystal glasses and candles.

Music floated through the gardens.

Guests arrived from different countries.

Celebrities.

Friends.

Family.

The BVS Kings' closest circle.

Lucy stood inside the bridal room.

Her wedding dress was breathtaking.

It was elegant and graceful, with delicate details flowing down the fabric.

Her hair was styled beautifully.

A veil rested gently behind her.

She stared at herself in the mirror.

For a moment, she didn't recognize the woman looking back.

She had once been the girl running through the snow.

The girl who thought she might never see tomorrow.

Now she was standing in a wedding dress.

Alive.

Loved.

Safe.

Mrs. Hanuel walked behind her.

Her eyes filled with tears.

"My baby."

Lucy turned.

"Mom."

Mrs. Hanuel embraced her.

"You look beautiful."

Lucy smiled.

"I'm nervous."

"That's normal."

"What if I cry?"

Mrs. Hanuel laughed.

"Then cry."

Lucy laughed too.

Then the door opened.

Paige stepped inside.

She looked beautiful.

Lucy turned toward her.

"You look gorgeous."

"So do you."

They hugged.

Paige looked at Lucy's ring.

"Still can't believe you're finally marrying Kim Jo."

Lucy smiled.

"Neither can I."

Paige laughed.

"Well, you better believe it."

Outside, the music began.

The ceremony was starting.

---

Kim Jo stood at the altar.

His suit was perfectly fitted.

But his hands were shaking.

Lee Dae stood beside him.

"Relax."

Kim Jo looked at him.

"Easy for you to say."

Lee Dae smiled.

"You're marrying the woman you love."

"I know."

"Then smile."

Kim Jo took a breath.

"Are you nervous?"

Lee Dae glanced toward the entrance.

"Very."

Kim Jo laughed.

"So we're both finished."

Seo Joon stood between them.

"You two are unbelievable."

Kim Jo looked at him.

"Where's Paige?"

"With Lucy."

Lee Dae smiled.

"She's going to be beautiful."

Then the music changed.

Everyone stood.

Kim Jo looked toward the entrance.

His breath caught.

Lucy appeared.

She walked slowly toward him.

And suddenly, everything disappeared.

The guests.

The cameras.

The music.

The entire world.

He only saw her.

His Lucy.

She was smiling.

And crying.

Kim Jo's eyes filled with tears.

He whispered,

"Lucy..."

She reached him.

He took her hand.

The moment their fingers touched, he smiled.

She whispered,

"Jimmy."

He laughed softly through his tears.

"You still call me that."

"I always will."

---

The ceremony began.

The vows were emotional.

Kim Jo looked into her eyes.

"I used to think loving someone meant protecting them from every bad thing in the world."

He swallowed.

"Then I learned I couldn't control everything."

His voice trembled.

"But I can promise you this."

He held her hands.

"I will never stop standing beside you."

Lucy cried.

"I promise to listen to you."

"I promise to respect you."

"I promise to choose you."

"Every day."

Lucy smiled through her tears.

Then it was her turn.

She looked at him.

"I used to think fairy tales were stories people told children."

Kim Jo smiled.

"Then I met you."

She laughed softly.

"And our story was nothing like a fairy tale."

The guests laughed gently through their tears.

"We were hurt."

"We were separated."

"We were afraid."

"But somehow..."

She squeezed his hands.

"We kept finding our way back to each other."

She looked at his eyes.

"So I don't promise you a perfect life."

"I promise you a real one."

"With me."

Kim Jo's tears fell.

Lucy smiled.

"Your Jimmy."

Everyone laughed.

Kim Jo laughed through his tears.

"Always."

The officiant smiled.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife."

Kim Jo looked at Lucy.

"Can I?"

She smiled.

"Yes."

He kissed her.

The guests erupted in applause.

---

TWO BRIDES, TWO GROOMS

The reception became even more spectacular.

Music filled the venue.

People danced.

Families laughed.

Kim Jo and Lucy cut their wedding cake.

Lee Dae and Paige did the same.

Soon, everyone was celebrating together.

Kim Jo looked across the room at Lee Dae.

"Can you believe we're married?"

Lee Dae laughed.

"You're the one who proposed twice."

Kim Jo shrugged.

"I wanted to make sure."

Lucy overheard them.

"Make sure of what?"

Kim Jo immediately smiled.

"Nothing."

Lucy narrowed her eyes.

"Jimmy."

He laughed.

"Yes, wife?"

She smiled.

"That's better."

Nearby, Seo Joon watched the chaos.

He laughed quietly.

Then he noticed someone.

A woman carrying several folders hurried across the room.

"Paige, the photographer needs the family list."

Paige turned.

"Yoon Seo, thank you."

The woman nodded.

"Everything is ready."

Seo Joon watched her.

He didn't know why.

He just did.

Paige noticed.

"Seo Joon?"

He blinked.

"Hm?"

She smiled knowingly.

"Nothing."

Yoon Seo turned around.

And almost walked directly into Seo Joon.

"Oh!"

She stepped back.

"I'm sorry."

Seo Joon smiled.

"No, that's my fault."

She looked at him.

Then recognized him.

"Oh."

He raised an eyebrow.

"You know me?"

"Everyone knows you."

He smiled.

"That's usually where people ask for an autograph."

Yoon Seo looked at him calmly.

"I'm working."

Seo Joon blinked.

"Right."

She picked up the folder she had nearly dropped.

"Excuse me."

She walked away.

Seo Joon watched her leave.

Lee Dae appeared beside him.

"You like her."

Seo Joon looked at him.

"I don't."

"You've been staring at her for thirty seconds."

"I was thinking."

"About her."

"No."

Lee Dae laughed.

Seo Joon looked back toward Yoon Seo.

She was speaking to Paige, completely ignoring him.

He smiled.

"What's her name?"

Lee Dae laughed.

"I knew it."

Seo Joon pushed him.

"Just tell me."

"Choi Yoon Seo."

"Paige's assistant?"

"Yes."

Seo Joon nodded.

"Interesting."

Lee Dae smiled.

"Be careful."

"Why?"

"She doesn't look impressed by you."

Seo Joon smiled.

"That's exactly why she's interesting."

Across the room, Yoon Seo glanced toward him.

Their eyes met.

She quickly looked away.

Seo Joon smiled.

For the first time that evening, he wasn't thinking about the cameras.

He wasn't thinking about fame.

He wasn't thinking about himself.

He was wondering about her.

And perhaps...

A new love story had just begun.

---

AFTER MIDNIGHT

Later that night, after the celebration had ended, Kim Jo and Lucy stood outside beneath the stars.

The venue was quiet now.

Flowers decorated the path.

Soft lights glowed around them.

Lucy looked down at her wedding ring.

Kim Jo slipped his arm around her waist.

"Tired?"

"A little."

"Happy?"

She looked at him.

"Very."

He smiled.

"Regrets?"

"None."

Kim Jo kissed her forehead.

For a moment, they simply stood together.

Lucy looked toward the sky.

"Jimmy?"

"Yes?"

"Do you remember when you first met me?"

"Every detail."

"When I called you Jimmy?"

He smiled.

"Especially that."

"You really liked it?"

"From the first second."

She laughed.

"I thought you might hate it."

"Never."

He looked at her.

"I loved hearing you say it."

Lucy rested her head against his shoulder.

"Then I'll keep saying it."

"Good."

He kissed her forehead again.

They stood beneath the stars.

No reporters.

No cameras.

No threats.

No fear.

Just them.

After everything they had survived, they finally had something neither of them had dared to believe was possible.

Peace.

Lucy looked at him.

"Do you still think our story is a fairy tale?"

Kim Jo smiled.

"No."

She looked surprised.

"No?"

He shook his head.

"It's better."

"Why?"

"Because fairy tales aren't real."

He took her hand.

"But you are."

Lucy smiled.

Kim Jo lifted her hand and kissed her wedding ring.

"You came back to me."

She shook her head.

"No."

He looked at her.

"I came home."

Kim Jo's eyes softened.

"Yes."

He pulled her closer.

"Home."

Lucy smiled.

And beneath the quiet night sky, the two of them stood together.

They had lost each other.

They had found each other.

They had cried.

They had fought.

They had survived.

And now, finally, they had their happily ever after.

Because perhaps love was never a fairy tale because nothing bad happened.

Perhaps love was a fairy tale because even after the darkness...

they still chose each other.

And this time—

nothing could take them away from one another.

The End.
