For one full second, nobody moved.
Then Jihan was out of his chair so fast it nearly toppled over, crossing the small distance to the bed in two strides, both hands hovering over his brother like he didn't quite trust himself to touch him without causing pain.
"Tae-hyun." His voice cracked wide open. "Hey. Hey, look at me."
Tae-hyun blinked slowly, still hazy, his gaze drifting before finally settling and focusing on his brother's face. "Hi," he rasped, voice thin and scratchy from disuse. "Why does everyone look like they've been crying."
"Because you got shot, you absolute idiot." Jihan's laugh came out broken, half sob. "You threw yourself in front of a bullet."
"Did it work?" Tae-hyun's eyes drifted toward Min-woo, who'd shot up from his chair and was already gripping the bed rail, tears spilling freely again. "Is he okay?"
"I'm fine," Min-woo said, voice cracking. "I'm fine, you absolute lunatic, why would you do that—"
