Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: New World

"…"I woke up in a weird white room that felt like the edge of space.

Black dots filled the never-ending room that looked like the stars and space had switched colors. Didn't I just DIE?

I looked at myself to check for bruises; my skin was surprisingly intact, but both my white shirt and jeans were torn beyond repair.

Am I alive?

My vision was hazy as I looked at my shivering hands.…:"

Welcome, Mohamad Neser" I looked up and saw a beautiful young woman. She had a divine air surrounding her, had green eyes, golden hair, and was wearing a beautiful white dress.

She spoke gracefully. Her presence alone could calm anyone who came across her.… "Hold your horses, one question at a time."

The goddess: "First of all, I am a goddess, and you are DEAD."

The air felt stiff as if the clock stopped ticking, the only word I could get out was "WHAT?!!"

The goddess: "Yes, a tanker truck caught fire and exploded right next to you."

"So, truck-kun said it was my time to go.

"I tried to lighten my mood with a silly meme.

The goddess: "Truck what-now."She scratched her head in confusion.

"Truck-kun, it's an anime thing, like a lot of deaths in anime, especially in the isekie series, happen by getting hit by a truck."

The goddess: "Oh, that makes sense."

The goddess took my words as if it was a fact and not an anime inside joke.

"Sorry to sound rude, but aren't you supposed to be omniscient? Plus, I already believe in God, and you're not it, no offence."

The goddess: "You're right about that! I only say that I am to ease my job a bit." "Sounds like you're just bad at your job, honestly."

My tone shifted to mild annoyance.

The goddess: "Yes, I am closer to a death angle."

She said that while clearly trying to keep her godlike grace.

"Okay, what now?"

I said that since our little chat wasn't going too well, and off course. The goddess: "I was getting there!!"

Her eyes were visibly twitching.

When she realized her sudden outburst, she coughed twice and returned to her former way of speaking.

The goddess: "You were chosen to be reincarnated into another world."As she said that, my eyes lit up with excitement as I thought of the countless isekai anime I watched throughout my living days.I subconsciously pointed my finger at myself.

The goddess: "Yes, you, the situation that you died in, to put it in your words, truck-kun killed you."

"So do I keep my memories?"

I said that in a playful, overly happy tone.

The goddess: "Usually, your memories reset, but there is a way to prevent that."I went through a field day of emotions, from happy to disappointed, then back to joyful."Enough with the suspense, how is it done?"

The goddess: "I will be cursing you with HSAM" (real illness, btw)

"ok it's my turn to ask; what do you mean by that?"

The goddess: "It means that you will never forget anything."

"Oh"

The goddess: "But as a side effect, you will be born with black hair."

I looked at my hair in confusion and back again at her.

"But isn't it already black?"

The goddess: "You'll understand in a minute."

"Right"

"May I ask for one more thing?"

The goddess: "What would you like?"

I thought of my religion and the chances that it would not exist in the new world."May I keep a copy of the holy book?"

(It could be any religion; it doesn't play a big role, so I kept it to the viewer's interpretation.)

The goddess: "I don't see why not, but I'll have to curse you again."

A chill went down my spine as I thought of what she meant by that.

"W-why? What will you do to me?"

The goddess: "You will never be able to read or write ever again."

"Hey, that doesn't sound fair."

And with the biggest smile, she said in a smug tone, "Sorry, too late."

My eyes twitched

"Is this because I called you a fake?"

The goddess: "Maybe."

"I'll leave a bad review when this is done."

I tried to lighten the mood again with a joke.

The goddess: "By the way, you will have access to a room around 2x2x4 meters in size at all times."

"Like my own inventory, nice."

My thoughts quickly went to the various games I used to play.

The goddess: "Yes, but it will look like you would be taking stuff from thin air."

Obviously, this is how inventories work in video games.

"I'll keep that in mind."

The goddess: "If there is nothing else, your time here is up, so bye."

"Bye"

The goddess: "Before I forget, I'll be keeping a watchful eye on y..."A bright light covered my eyes as the feeling of being transported crept upon me..
