Jude just looked at Scarlett as he wasn't expecting those words
Scarlett could see the anger slowly building inside him as his expression changed
"You think Betty was trying to replace you?", he asked
Scarlett nodded
"I don't think she only wanted me gone, I just think she wanted everything I had"
His expression hardened
"She even wanted to be the mother of my own children", she added
Jude suddenly stepped away from the table as his breathing had become heavier
He suddenly felt he had made a mistake by trusting her too much and giving her the password to the safe
He closed his eyes briefly
"How did I not see this underneath me?", he whispered
Scarlett looked at him
"That's because you trusted her too much and you didn't expect her to do what she did"
He opened his eyes sharply
"You also trusted her", he said
"I know, right?"
