In the first round-robin match, Su Yunlin entered the stage alone. With absolute strength, he defeated 6 members of the Sun Moon team, including Xiao Hongchen. In the end, Meng Hongchen announced their surrender.
Because too many members had fallen unconscious, the Sun Moon team was unable to participate in the team battle. Thus, in this round-robin match, Shrek Academy won.
This scene made Xu Tianran's expression darken. However, he could not see through Su Yunlin's method of attack. It was merely an ordinary palm strike, yet he had defeated the geniuses of the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy one after another.
Even Xiao Hongchen could not withstand a single palm. Xu Tianran began to consider what the outcome would be if he fought Su Yunlin himself.
Xu Tianran clenched his fist and murmured, "Submit or die!"
The Sun Moon team was cursed by the entire Sun Moon populace. As the empire's number one academy, they had actually lost so thoroughly on their own territory.
Xiao Hongchen remained silent. He was sneering inwardly. Although he had brought shame to the empire, the roots of the empire had already rotted away.
The imperial family was colluding with Evil Spirit Masters. Did such an empire still have a place for them? Xiao Hongchen thought a great deal, and in the end, he chose to betray the nation. The Hongchen clan was indeed a great clan of the Sun Moon Empire, but the current Sun Moon Empire had already completely rotted.
Evil Spirit Masters were openly participating in the tournament. Was an empire like this still worth loyalty? Xiao Hongchen felt that, before long, he and his sister might both become nourishment for Evil Spirit Masters.
By comparison, Shrek Academy was quite pure toward them. It had even extended an olive branch that Xiao Hongchen could not refuse.
Originally, Xiao Hongchen's dream was to become a level 9 soul engineer. Now, his dream had grown more distant. He wanted to become a Super Douluo, to become an unprecedented level 10 soul engineer, and even to explore the path of Limit Douluo!
This was Xiao Hongchen's ambition. Since his parents had given him such excellent talent, he naturally had to fight for it properly.
Next was the second round-robin match, Tang Sect versus Brightjade Sect.
Brightjade Sect was a native sect of the Sun Moon Empire. They primarily used close-combat soul tools.
This match was fought by Jiang Nannan, Xiao Xiao, and Bei Bei.
They were going with a female general lineup. Unfortunately, Tang Wutong was pregnant and would not go onstage, so Bei Bei, the eldest senior brother, naturally served as the final safeguard.
Jiang Nannan's strength was extraordinary. Although her Martial Soul was the Soft Bone Rabbit, she used it exceptionally well. On top of that, she had consumed the Narcissus Jade Flesh Bone, making her even more powerful in terms of flexibility. She easily defeated 2 opponents from Brightjade Sect.
That continued until the appearance of the third opponent, A De.
"Mm? A Bloodsucking Bat?" Su Yunlin noticed this Martial Soul.
"What's wrong?"
Su Yunlin shook his head. "It's a Martial Soul with a slight trace of evil, but here, him becoming an Evil Spirit Master is already a foregone conclusion."
A De's Martial Soul was quite troublesome, but Jiang Nannan was not simple either. Using Teleportation and Invincible Golden Body, she closed in and attacked, directly eliminating A De with a set of Frenzied Soft Rabbit kicking techniques.
Jiang Nannan eliminated 3 people. Next was Xiao Xiao.
The current Xiao Xiao had also been reborn anew. Although she walked the control-support path, she did not lack violent attack methods. Her Three Lives Soulcrush Cauldron now possessed the heaviness of the earth. Ordinary people would probably not feel good after being smashed by it.
Moreover, Xiao Xiao still had a hidden trump card, the external Spirit Bone, Darkgolden Terrorclaw. She successfully defeated 2 opponents, and Bei Bei finished things off in the end.
The individual matches were still won by Tang Sect. Immediately afterward came the team battle.
The people Tang Sect sent out were Bei Bei, Xu Sanshi, Jiang Nannan, Xiao Xiao, Huo Yuhao, Na Na, and Tang Ya.
Although Tang Ya was the Sect Master, she had also registered. Occasionally going up as a substitute was also fine.
This lineup shocked everyone present. Tang Sect displayed its true strength here: one Spirit Sage, four Spirit Emperors, and two Spirit Kings. What powerful cultivation this was!
No one had expected that the woman appearing for the first time, Tang Ya, was actually a Spirit Sage. One truly could not judge a person by appearance.
However, this Brightjade Sect was not simple either. Their captain, Cain, actually possessed the Darkgolden Three-Headed Bat King Martial Soul. No one had expected that this kind of unusual beast could become someone's Martial Soul.
Unfortunately, no matter how strong the Darkgolden Three-Headed Bat King was, it still could not defeat Bei Bei's Light Holy Dragon. The Light Holy Dragon had absolute restraint over it.
In the end, Tang Sect won this match.
...
Several days later, Shrek Academy faced the Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy.
This match was the main event, a collision between two top academies!
Xiao Hongchen's gaze was resolute. It was true that he had a good relationship with the Shrek Seven Monsters, but that did not mean he had a good relationship with the rest of Shrek. He was determined to win this match!
"Shrek Academy team versus Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy team. Individual elimination match, first round. Both sides, state your names."
It was still Unbreakable Douluo Zheng Zhan serving as the referee. After all, this match was crucial, and he had to be present.
"Shrek, Di Ruiqiu."
"Sun Moon Imperial Soul Engineering Academy, Ye Canshang."
Di Ruiqiu began the match. With absolutely violent methods, she defeated 3 opponents, crippling Ye Canshang, driving Meng Hongchen off the stage, and beating the third opponent until his mentality collapsed.
The Hongchen siblings indeed had a good relationship with the Shrek Seven Monsters, but that did not mean they had a good relationship with Di Ruiqiu. Moreover, in Di Ruiqiu's view, she had already shown restraint by not killing anyone.
Afterward, in the team battle, Shrek Academy displayed an even more exceptional performance. Ning Tian's evolved Eight Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda greatly increased her support ability, and Di Ruiqiu gained an additional suit of golden-green armor engraved with scorpion patterns.
The moment this armor appeared, Di Ruiqiu's strength was directly amplified to the Spirit Douluo level. Combined with Ning Tian's support, Di Ruiqiu forcefully defeated the Hongchen siblings' Martial Soul Fusion Ability, Hongchen's Attachment.
Su Yunlin looked at Huo Yuhao. "You made her two-word battle armor? And a full set at that?"
Huo Yuhao scratched his head. He had indeed delivered this battle armor to Di Ruiqiu. After all, his relationship with Di Ruiqiu was exceptionally close. He always felt as though he had seen her somewhere before, and he could trust Di Ruiqiu unconditionally.
Su Yunlin crossed his arms. "Looks like the Sun Moon Empire is also going to notice how powerful battle armor is. I wonder how long it will take them to research complete battle armor."
Battle armor was Shrek Academy's highest-level soul tool. In a certain sense, it was stronger than level 9 soul tools. After all, soul tool armor that could amplify a Spirit Master in all attributes was extremely rare.
Although the Sun Moon Empire was also researching humanoid soul tools, they were only prototypes. Their amplification was limited and could not reach the level of battle armor.
Sometimes, Su Yunlin wondered why his father was so impressive. He had forcibly created battle armor. This kind of necessary equipment from the next version was a dimensional strike when placed in this era.
After losing to Tang Sect, the Sun Moon team lost to Shrek Academy as well. Consecutive defeats not only disappointed Xu Tianran, but also disappointed the citizens of the Sun Moon Empire.
...
Inside Su Yunlin's room at the Radiant Joy Hotel.
"Mm? You want to pass on necromancy and a brand-new Spirit Soul system to me?"
Su Yunlin looked at Huo Yuhao, somewhat puzzled.
Huo Yuhao nodded. "My teacher wants to teach you. It's the divine consciousness you discovered before. He's a powerful expert from another world. His name is Electrolux. I call him Elder Yi."
