Chapter 118 - Enyo

The holy sword had been forged and was radiating a brilliant golden light.

"I'm going to die..."

My left arm... I can't feel it.

[——Ah... ah...]

"Do you like it?"

[Y-yes... I like it.]

"Why were you like that earlier?"

[Because I was being made. A child before birth can't speak right away, can it?]

"I suppose not..."

[What happens to me now?]

"No idea."

It was far too dangerous to give to someone else,

and if I gave it to Aiz, that seemed like it would cause problems too...

[You don't intend to use me yourself?]

"I'm a blacksmith, not a swordsman."

[Is there some law that says a blacksmith can't use a sword?]

"Wouldn't it be better to give me to a swordsman who handles swords better? From the sword's point of view, wouldn't that be better too?"

[Well... I'm not a sword, so.]

Ah, right.

[For me, staying attached to you is better than going to another adventurer.]

"..."

After going to all that trouble to make it, nobody else can use it.

No, if I removed Pandora, maybe it would be possible?

"Since it's come to this, can I try using it once?"

[Yes.]

I gripped Excalibur with both hands, then

"Ex..."

"calibur!!!"

I swung it.

A brilliant golden light swept through the Dungeon.

The floor I was on now was the 100th floor.

It was thicker and wider than any other floor, and yet,

"...Amazing."

I cut through the floor far too easily.

"Roughly... the 30th floor or higher?"

[The day has come when you'll destroy me with your own hand.]

"I'm not going to break it any more."

This was just a power test, so now that I had a rough idea of its strength, I could use the pendant and head back up.

"Kiaaaaa..."

By the time I reached the 2nd floor, the goblins and kobolds were already giving me a wide berth.

"So it's because of you."

[I won't deny it.]

"Hide your power a little when we go up. If the gods notice, I'm dead on the spot."

[I'm already doing that.]

We climbed the floors a little faster while talking about this and that, and before long,

"We're outside now."

I had arrived in Orario, where the blue sky could be seen.

[Ah...]

How is the sky after so long?

[Beautiful.]

Excalibur began to tremble faintly.

[...The gods probably won't be pleased to see me.]

Setting that aside for now,

"Let's rest a bit."

[...Wasn't there an Enyo subjugation?]

...Damn it.
