On the seventh day since the Black Dragon retreated,
Orario was in an extreme state of tension.
The Black Dragon was a monster even Zeus and Hera had been unable to do anything about.
The Orario of the present seemed incapable of defeating the Black Dragon...
but,
"This is Excalibur, the one-time knockoff... It should be able to do at least a little damage."
hope existed,
"I'll bring a few spirits too."
always,
"Supplies? Wait a minute. I'm going to go threaten some people."
It existed.
There is a saying: the calm before the storm.
The quiet before a major incident breaks out.
Right now was exactly that.
Adventurers could not recklessly enter the Dungeon because of the Black Dragon, whose arrival could not be predicted; the taverns had closed, and even the few that remained open were filled only with silence.
The unease that today's worries might never come again made people clamp shut the mouths that had once been so light and careless.
But,
that did not mean everyone was standing still.
"Please take this."
"You are..."
"You need to keep your strength up at times like this!"
Some spread hope.
Some did what they could.
At the very least, so they would have no regrets.
On the eighth day,
a black dot began to appear in the sky beyond.
The black dot, like a fly, was writhing as if in pain while drawing closer.
The guards said they saw a golden light within that black dot.
On the ninth day,
the dot drew closer and closer until its silhouette began to show.
The Black Dragon was writhing in pain from the sword embedded in its eye.
"What is it, some kind of drama queen?"
And then,
on the long-awaited tenth day,
the Black Dragon appeared over Orario once more.
Its enormous wings, as if they would cover the sky, its sharp claws as if they would tear apart the entire world, and the one remaining crimson eye held all of Orario within it.
The Black Dragon was slowly approaching Orario.
"...For now... let's take one hit."
The black light released by the newly born black magic sword struck the Black Dragon's upper body.
"■■■■■■■!!!"
The Black Dragon plunged from the sky as a result.
There were no visible wounds, but this made one thing certain.
"It feels pain too! The Black Dragon isn't invincible!!!"
The life-or-death struggle for Orario's survival
against the Black Dragon began.
