Chapter 177 - Chapter 178 Fox stared at the hand Alice extended.

Fox stared at the hand Alice extended.

This was the first time. In her entire life, this was the first time someone had invited her. Not to take another person's life, not to be a tool of fate, but to save lives.

the loom in the hall was still roaring, but in Fox's ears, the sound no longer felt like a death knell, but more like a pulse of rebirth.

Fox remained silent for a long time.

For so long that Wesley thought she was about to pull out a dagger to resist, cracks finally appeared on her face, which had been like an ice-covered mountain.

The ice was beginning to melt.

She pressed her lips together tightly, holding onto a thought of almost devout atonement, and slowly reached out to take Alice's slightly cool hand.

"I might be able to try."

"Alright, since the recruitment process is basically complete, let's talk about serious business." Alice clapped her hands, instantly switching from life mentor back to corporate powerhouse mode.

She turned and looked into the depths of the hall, her eyes deep and thoughtful.

"The Fraternity has stood for hundreds of years. Besides this machine, there is one other thing that attracts me."

Under the dim, murky light, dozens of huge copper bathtubs were arranged neatly in the side hall.

The tubs were filled with a milky, viscous liquid.

This was the greatest foundation of The Fraternity.

Healing and restoration fluid.

"Medical care in the United States is expensive, you know?" Alice walked up to a tub, speaking half-jokingly and half-seriously. "If we keep this bathhouse, in the future, whether it's a fracture, a gunshot wound, or internal organ damage, as long as we don't expire on the spot, we won't have to wait in line for expensive emergency care, and we can save a huge amount of money on health insurance."

She bent down, dipped her hand into the white liquid, and rubbed it between her fingertips.

The liquid was thick and carried a warmth peculiar to biological matter.

The moment it touched her skin, she felt a slight tingling sensation.

"The principle behind this stuff is very interesting."

Alice stared at the liquid on her fingertips as it slowly seeped into her skin, her eyes flashing with a fanatical scientific light.

"White blood cells are accelerated by some unknown biological enzyme, and the tissue regeneration rate has reached an astonishing level—at least ten times the efficiency of a normal human body."

It was even more efficient than the t-1 essence created by loading the Ai Haibara character card.

Alice looked around, her gaze landing on a heavy door at the end of the bath area, which bore a heavy iron sign that read "No Entry."

"The production volume of this medicinal fluid is extremely low, and there have never been any rumors about it in the outside World. This means it cannot be synthesized artificially, nor is it produced by some kind of chemical reactor."

"The source must be inside."

Alice said, taking out the key she had obtained from Sloan.

"Clang!"

The iron door opened.

"God!"

Wesley gasped, simultaneously covering his nose with his sleeve instinctively.

This was an underground breeding room, and the air was filled with a terrifying stench.

In the center of the room, hanging from complex iron chains and supports, were a dozen creatures that looked like giant silkworm cocoons.

They were about two meters long, covered entirely in a layer of thick, translucent white fuzz that refracted a strange luster in the light.

These creatures looked like some kind of mutated giant moth larvae, yet they possessed respiratory organs similar to mammals, and pale purple blood vessels could be seen pulsing rhythmically beneath their skin.

They were locked up by thick iron chains, and their bodies were covered in dense networks of IV tubes and extraction tubes.

At this moment, these larvae, known as Loom Moth, looked extremely weak.

Their fat bodies had begun to show shriveled wrinkles, and every movement appeared exhausting.

Below them, piles of rotting plant seeds and unknown organ fragments were stacked.

"This is the source of the healing fluid?" Cross frowned. He had been in this business for so long, and this was the first time he had seen such a bizarre sight. "Sloan was farming myths?"

"Not myths, but a miracle of biology." Alice walked up, ignoring the pungent stench.

She gently stroked the skin of one of the larvae with her tactical-gloved hand, feeling its faint body temperature.

This was a species outside of human scientific records.

Their evolutionary path completely deviated from the norm, born specifically to produce that highly active secretion.

"They are starving to death." Alice made a precise judgment, her voice uncharacteristically tinged with anger. "That greedy old bastard, Sloan. To squeeze out more healing fluid, he over-extracted their secretions without providing these poor little things with enough nutrition or a suitable growth environment."

"This is a cash cow, yet he didn't take care of it at all."

A flash of pity crossed Alice's eyes.

"Go find that reinforced refrigerated transport truck. Move all these larvae along with their culture racks. And all the remaining culture fluid—don't leave a single drop."

"We're going to raise these disgusting meat worms?" Wesley looked disgusted. He watched the wriggling white behemoths, feeling his stomach churn.

"These 'disgusting meat worms' will, in the future, make Umbrella Corporation the absolute center of global regenerative medicine, organ transplantation, and battlefield rescue."

Alice gently patted the fleshy head of one of the Loom Moth, her mind full of wild fantasies and blueprints for the future.
