Some people are lying down, some are curled up. Some are kneeling on the ground with their heads resting on the surface, while others are leaning against the Mecha, bodies still standing.
Although the Western Alliance Army had just retreated, sporadic shells continued to fall on the battlefield. Soil, human remains, and steel fragments soared into the sky like splashes of water in the explosions.
In the distance, the clouds were blood red.
Stiller sat on the muddy ground of the ditch, letting the medical soldier wrap his wound. The wound was on his calf; the enemy's fierce punch shattered the Mecha's control panel. If he hadn't retreated quickly, his calf would have suffered more than just a simple gash over ten centimeters long cut by the console.
