Though passive, Gao Yang is principled. With Yelena by his side, he resolutely clarifies his relations with any other women, avoiding flirting and, unless necessary, not making contact.
Gao Yang feels that love is a sacred thing, and actions like having romantic interests with multiple people, even N people, are unacceptable. He knows his flaw of not being able to refuse; becoming too close to other women might lead to big trouble.
