The little fellow, upon seeing her, toddled toward her with "Ya, ya, Yiyi" and rubbed against her, their small face innocent and pure.
Mo Jingxuan pursed his lips, "Yu'er has a mother, and doesn't need his uncle anymore."
"Giggle!" The little one laughed.
Qu Tan'er laughed too, and scooped up Yu'er in her arms, "Mwah!" planting a kiss on him. The mother and son started to play again, "Little Yu'er, say 'Mommy'."
The little fellow was teased into laughter again.
Mo Jingxuan blinked in confusion, "What does 'Mommy' mean?"
"It's another way to say mother." Qu Tan'er explained, and then paused, asking, "How come I don't see Shi Xue?"
"Shi Xue has gone on a long trip for business."
"Oh." She didn't ask further.
Mo Jingxuan also didn't ask more, staring at that familiar little face, once believing he'd never see it again. She was absorbed in playing with the child, innocent of any schemes. After a while, he murmured, "Lady Eight, it's so good... you could come back alive."
