Ming Mei returned to her room, changed into clean clothes, and cleaned her body, feeling refreshed. She then found a loose shirt and baggy shorts to change into. As she was changing, she felt a gaze on her.
She looked up and saw Zhuang Zhixi already awake, propping his head on his arm and smiling at her.
Ming Mei pouted, "What are you looking at?"
Zhuang Zhixi patted the spot next to him, saying, "Come and lie down for a bit."
Ming Mei didn't refuse at all; she was a bit tired too. She climbed onto the kang (a heated brick bed) and lay down, peeking at the two kids. The little ones were sprawled out, sleeping soundly. Luckily, they had hastily converted their bed to a kang last year; otherwise, there wouldn't have been enough space for these two little ones to spread out.
They were little rascals who could roll and tumble in their sleep.
Ming Mei asked, "What did they eat for lunch?"
