It's Christmas eve everyone is busy in decorating their Christmas trees and getting Present for their Relatives, friends and loved ones.
Joy was too excited about this Christmas, as she wanted to make Lisa happy, so she decorated the tree outside her house and bought presents for her.
Lisa was still upset with Joy, she was not interested in any celebration, she would lock herself in her room most of the time, hardly would come to eat with Joy, To her life was all about going to a big college, and if she couldn't do it, then there's no way, she could get out of the life, she was living.
joy woke got ready and prepared breakfast, she took a day off from her morning Part-Time work to prepared special treats for Lisa to cheer her up. She went to her room and asked her to come and eat.
Lisa refused to come out and eat with her at first but Joy Kept Insisting to come out and tell her that she had cooked all her favourite things, Lisa came out of her room and sat on the chair beside Joy.
" Hey, Princess! Look I have made all your favourite things, Its Christmas Eve Lisa, Cheer up, you always wait for Christmas to have a lot of fun, How can you be in your room all day?" said Joy.
Lisa didn't say a word, She finished eating and stoop up to go to her room, Joy Stopped Lisa and Said, " Lisa? Princess! Please Don't be like this, you know I can't see you this way, I know this is so hard for you, but you are not alone, I am with you, and If Mama was here, She too wouldn't like seeing you this way," So Please my princess, cheer up, everything would be fine". said joy and hugged Lisa.
" Sister, I am not a kid anymore, I know Nothing is going to be okay, you can't earn that much money overnight, so please stop giving me such hopes, If mom and dad would have been here, I would not have to go through this, and If Mom Knew how hard it is to earn money in this world, for her hospital bills and her care then she wouldn't have been lying there, she would have sacrificed her life fo her Daughters Dream, but you wouldn't understand this Sister, mom is never gonna wake up sister, and if you could understand this then we could save some more for us," said Lisa with no sense of guilt in her eyes for what she just said.
Joy couldn't believe what Lisa was saying, When she heard Lisa talking about their mother in this way, joy couldn't just control her anger and she Slapeed Lisa, " How could you say that? Lisa, She is not someone else, She is our mother Lisa, she raised us, Loved us, sacrificed so much for us, and this is how you are gonna repay her, Just for a college fee you want me to let our mother die, I never Taught you this Lisa.
Lisa was startled at joy's Slap, her Eyes filled with tears, and she said while Crying, " then what do you want me to do Sister? I said, What I wanted to, I don't have any regret about this". Lisa then went to her room crying.
Joy was worried about Lisa. " I shouldn't have slapped her, What did you do Joy? How could you salp your sister, Joy Knocked on Lisa's room door but she won't open it, Joy asked her to forgive her for slapping her, but Lisa didn't want to listen to her?
Joy didn't know what to do she was worried, she wanted to make it up to Lisa for slapping her, Joy looked at her watch, She still had plenty of time to go to work. Joy decided to go to City Market to buy present for Lisa as it was Christmas. Joy was sad inside, she was wondering why Lisa is behaving this way. She reached the market.
" I only saved to buy a gift for Lisa on Christmas, But, Its Christmas I should buy gifts for Clair, Peter, Embrey and Drake too, they are my friends, but I don't have enough money, Let's buy first for Lisa and by rest of the money I would buy Gift for all of them, That would be good," right Joy? Wondered Joy.
Drake Bought a beautiful red dress for Lisa, " Lisa would like this" Joy Wondered. then Joy tried to manage to Buy Gifts for others too with what money she has.
Joy bought a good and Comfy Pillow for Clair as Clair always complains to her about her neck pain due to Hospital bed's Pillow, She bought a Coffee Mug written" My Little Brother" on it in Korean, a Neckalce for Embrey and a Back Shirt for Drake.
Joy Knew that all present for her Friends were not very expensive, She was worried if they would like it or not. Joy thought of Making Some greeting cards for them too.
After buying Presents for everyone Joy went to the hospital, She went to 10th floor for cleaning and saw Clair was sitting on her bed looking all down, Joy went to her and wished her for Christmas eve as she gave her the Flowers.
" Clair, You are looking so down today, are you okay?" asked Joy. Clair turned to Joy and said in a low voice, " I am fine Joy, It's Just I am sad, its Christmas, everyone out there is decorating their trees, giving treats and enjoying, and here I am, lying on this sick bed, It doesn't even feel like Its Christmas for all of the patients here, look around Joy does it look like Its Christmas tomorrow I want to celebrate every little moment before I die, but In this hospital, I feel Sick joy." sighed Clair.
Joy feels sorry for Clair, She knew Clair wanted to have fun and enjoy the final days she has with no regrets, She looked at Clair and said, " Okay! Clair, you want to have a Christmas party, then we would have one."
Clair looked and Joy surprisingly and said, " But I can't go out Joy". " I know Clair, you can't go out, but we can have one, right here, in the hospital., wouldn't that be great, since everybody is so busy at the hospital, they too could have a Christmas party". said, Joy.
As Joy said this a beautiful smile spread all over Clair's face, she holds Joy's hand and asked, " Really? Can we do that, That would be great Joy, but don't you need to get permission for this?"
" leave it up to me Clair, I would Figure out that, but you will have a Christmas party, I promise," said Drake and left after finishing her work.
Joy did not know how she was going to do it, but she wanted Clair to live her last days happily. Joy was thinking about how she could manage to do that, An Idea struck in her mind.
She thought of talking about it to Drake as he is a Doctor here and He might help her in this. Joy went to 14th floor to Drake Office, she knocked on the door, Drake asked to come in, Drake hold the Doorknob turned it to open, but was still thinking If she should ask Drake to help her out in this. but she gives it a second thought and wondered, " but It's for Clair, Joy, Drake could help in getting permission." and she opened the door.
Drake was working, as he raised his head to see who came, He saw Joy, and was happy to see her.
He stood and asked Joy to sit on the couch and sat beside her. " Hey ! what brought you here Joy?" asked Drake.
"Hmm. I need your help" said Joy with hesitation. a Help? Sure Joy, anything for you, tell me what is it? asked Drake.
Uhh!! Tomorrow is Christmas and Clair want to celebrate it, she would be really happy. So, I promised her but I think It would be nice if we could have a Christmas party at the hospital, for everyone, Doctors, Patients, and other staff too. they work too hard every day, so I thought we could do that much for them, But we need to have the permission to do so, and I thought…you could...
Drake Interrupted Joy in the middle and said," and you thought I could help you in getting that permission? right?"
Joy hesitated for a moment and they said, " Yes, can you? Clair would be so happy if we could do that Drake".
Drake looked at Joy and said, " Okay! I would help you out in getting permission."
Joy was so happy to hear that, she thanked Drake for his help and left to her work, after finishing her work, She decided to go the cafeteria, on the way to cafeteria she met peter and she told him about her Idea.
Joy was waiting for Drake's call about the permission, As joy was having her lunch, she saw Drake coming to the cafeteria, she ran to him and asked him, " Drake? so? how it went? did you get the permission?"
hmm… Drake paused and said," Yes, they gave the permission, at first they refused but when I told them that It would be so good for the Hospital reputation, people would think, that care Unit Hospital is so caring about their patients and Doctors. so, they said that we could have the celebration, they would give us all the Decorating material and treats for everyone too".
Joy was on clouds after hearing this, She said, thank you so much, Drake, It would have been possible without you, thank you so much. Now I need to go we need to do a lot of preparation, Peter let's go, we had a lot to do."
as Joy begins to leave Drake to hold her hand and said, " Hey! we still had plenty of time and we would help you, so first finish eating, then we would start working together, Okay?"
Joy hurriedly finished eating and asked Peter to arrange one Christmas tree for every ward.
Joy went to Jake to ask him if he could give her some people to help her with the Party. Jake gave her some people a
Joy first helped some in decoration, then she went to check others floor and help others to decorate their Ward and asked patients of each ward to decorate their Christmas tree the way they want, and write their wishes on a paper and hang them on the tree. Everyone, Patients, Doctors and all staff came forward to help to have their Christmas party.
Joy went to see Clair, She saw Clair helping Peter and Drake in Decorating walls with lightings.
Joy went to her and asked, " hey Clair, Do you like it?" Clair turned and saw Joy, " Yes Joy I love It, I thought, I would not be able to celebrate this Christmas, but Now am so Happy joy, Thank you, Joy, Thank you so much, I won't ever forget this Christmas".said Clair feeling so thankful to Joy.
While doing all the preparations, it was not known when it was time for the night shift.
Everyone Drake, Peter Clair and Joy were exhausted after working so hard for tomorrow's Christmas party.they all sat down in the cafeteria.
Joy finished her night shift and hurried back home So that she talk to Lisa. Joy reached home, she went near Lisa's room knocked on the door and saw it was open, She went Inside the room. Lisa was awake, she was lying in the bed with her eyes open, trying to figure out something.
Joy went sat beside her on the bed, she patted her head and said, " Hey! Princess Merry Christmas!! I am sorry Princess, I got too angry and I slapped you, I am sorry, but you shouldn't have said that She is our mother Lisa, she is only, we have, Right? Now wake up! ".
Lisa woke up and Hugged Joy and said, I am sorry Sister. joy Hugged her back.
"Lisa, look what I bought for you, I would look so good on you, you would look beautiful," said Joy.
Joy gave Lisa her Christmas Gift. Lisa was happy to get the gift, she took it and thanked her sister for the gift.
" Sister, My friends are having a Christmas party, I want to go with them, Can I? I would come back home by 9 PM?" said Lisa.
Joy thought that Lisa has gone through a tough time past few months if she would go out that might help her to relax. Joy agreed to let her go with them but she asked her to come home by 9 PM.
Joy then went to take a nap before going to her Part-Time Work.
After Sleeping for awhile, Joy woke up got ready and picked gifts and Christmas Cards she made for her friends and left for work.
After finishing her morning Part-Time Work, Joy walked to the hospital. she took flowers for Clair on her way to the hospital. Joy reached their and changed into her uniform, she put her gift in the locker and went to her cleaning work, after finishing her work at all the floors, Joy went to have he lunch.
She saw Drake and Peter Sitting together in the cafeteria, she went to them and took a seat beside them.
" So are you ready for tonight party Joy?" asked Drake. " yeah! I am so happy Drake, We could do this, I would be a great Christmas for Clair. said joy smiling.
After the day- shifts got over, Joy went to meet Clair, Party was about to begin, Joy saw many of the doctors, patients and staff were wearing nice and beautiful clothes for celebrating Christmas, they were all looking beautiful.
everything was decorated and was looking so beautiful, soon it was time for the Party, Joy went to her Locker to get the Gifts and cards.
Joy went to the 14th floor where everyone was gathered, Drake, Peter, Clair was waiting for fo her.
As all got together, all glittering light was switched on and it looked so pretty, everyone was happy. happiness on Clair's face was so beautiful to see.
Everybody wished each other Merry Christmas, having treats, playing games, dancing, singing, giving gifts to each other and enjoying the celebration.
Joy was happy to see the smile on everyone's face, she felt like she did something good. Joy went near to her friends to give them presents.
" hey, Clair! See I have got a special Christmas Card for you and this Comfy pillow, now you could sleep well, and you won't have a neck pain" said Joy.
" Oh! my dear thank you so much, Joy, you had already given me the nest gift of this Christmas, this Christmas Party, but I don't have anything to give you my Joy" said Clair feeling overwhelmed.
" you became my friend, that the best gift for me Clair, I could ask anything else from you, Clair."
Then Joy Turn to Peter and gave him his gift, the Coffee Mug, Peter was so happy to get the gift, he hugged Joy and gave her the Greeting Card he made himself for joy and wrote a Poe for her too.
joy Thanked him and She looked around to find Embrey to give present to her, but he couldn't find her.
joy then turned to Drake and gave the Present she bought for him. Drake opened his gift and said, " A shirt, this is so good joy, I love it, Thank you, Joy. I am gonna wear this." Drake looked at Joy and said, " Hey Everyone is dressed up here, how come you did not wear any dress for the party."
Joy Hesitated and said," Uhh!! I forgot to bring my new dress Drake, but it's fine, A dress won't change anything, right?"
Drake took out the gift that he bought for Joy and asked her to have it. joy opened her Gift and looked at it, It was a black colour Dress with a red colour flower in the middle.
Joy looked at the dress and said, " but this seems so expensive Drake, I can't accept it, the shirt I bought for you is nothing compared to this dress."
Drake looked at Joy, He smiled and said, " hey the price of the gift does not matter, what matter is that with how much love, care and respect, it is given to someone, now don't think too much, I can't let you roam around in this party in your cleaning uniform, and if you don't accept my gift, I won't accept yours either. So, now it's your wish? "
Joy couldn't do anything, she had to agree with Drake. Drake asked Clair to help Joy get ready.
Clair Took Joy with her. Drake went to his office to change too he wore the shirt that Joy bought for him, he was so happy to wear it.
Drake came to the party after changing, he was looking so hot and handsome in all-black style. everyone's eyes were him, nurses and his fellow doctors were looking at him with lust in their eyes.
But Drake's Eyes were trying to find someone else in the crowd, who has not come yet.
as drake turned to look around He saw Joy Coming in the Black dress that look so beautiful on her, his eyes he could stop looking at her, she was looking so beautiful and gorgeous, he couldn't resist her beauty, he kept looking at her until she came near to him.
He was nervous, his heart was pounding, his voice was trembling,h could not say anything.
Drake gathered his courage and said, " you look beautiful joy. would ..would you like to dance with me?"
Drake was scared to ask her to dance because she might reject him, but it was Christmas, how could she?
Drake extended his hand in front of the Joy for a dance, Joy holds his hand and they began dancing.
They were looking great together, everyone's eyes were on them, nurses and fellow doctors were jealous because he Chose Joy to dance with over them. but to Drake, it was like a dream, from which he never want to wake up.
" Didn't they look great together Peter?, He liked her so much? said, Clair.
" What? Doctor Drake? Like my Noona? How do you know? asked Peter in surprise as he heard Clair.
"Don't you see the way he looks at our Joy, with love, passion and care, whenever he is with our Joy, his eyes brighten up, I pray to God that he destined them to be together like this forever because Joy needs to be with someone who could love her with that passion?" said Clair.
As Clair said that, she held Peter's hand and said, " Peter I am not feeling well, I a feeling Dizzy, it feels like everything is roaming in a circle."
before Peter could say or do anything, Clair fainted on the floor.
When everybody saw that, they got panic, As Joy saw Clair falling she, came running to her and shouted, " Clair? Clair? what happened? Wake Up, Clair? Drake? Drake? please look at her, why is not she waking up?"
Drake asked everyone to make some space and asked Peter to carry her to her bed. Clair was unconscious, she was not well her disease was killing day by day.
Joy sat beside Clair, Holding her hand, telling her to stay strong and telling her to wake up. A Christmas Party had now turned in to a battle for life to Clair. Would Clair be able to fight her disease and wake up or her disease won't let her win.
What would Joy do, would she be getting her friend back again, or was she going have one more loss added to her life?
