Maya jumped awake. The room was dark. The drapes were shut cutting out the moonlight from shining into the bedroom. Maya was in bed alone. Odd. Shuffling out from under the covers, Maya made her way over to the door.
Grunting, Maya twisted and tugged on the handle. It was locked. Panicking slightly, Maya rushed over to the window, ripping the draped away allowing the moonlight to flood into the room. The metal bars that covered the window reflected the moonlight into the room. Breathing heavily Maya turned around to bump into somebody. Charlie stood behind her. He looked down at her with his eyes glowing. The slight yellow that surrounded his dark brown orbs illuminated in the darkness. "Where you going?" Charlie asked as his fingertips danced up Maya's arm.
Maya looked at him before shrugging his hands off of her before walking back to the door. Charlie growled lowly before harshly grabbing Maya's shoulder and yanking her back. Mayas back met the wall making her cough out a yelp. Charlie's eyes grew brighter and brighter. Maya stared at him with a dullness in her eyes. Showing him that she was unfazed but his actions, not thinking that he would hurt her. Charlie smirked at her.
His hands were placed beside her head as his knee pressed between her thighs, trapping her against the wall. "You can't leave me," his voice was taunting. Maya tilted her head at him.
What the hell was he talking about?
Maya placed her hands against his chest trying to push him back. Charlie grabbed her wrist, his nails penetrating the skin. Maya hissed in pain as she attempted to tug her arms about of Charlie's grasp. The sound of her blood dropping on the floor reached her ears. The sound consumed her hearing. Everything around her became a daze.
"You're mine," Charlie's voice seemed as if it were miles away. The blood began to leak out of her arm; breathing becoming labored.
Maya jolted when Ace pinched her. Maya was laying in bed with Ace sitting beside her staring at her. "What are you deaf now too?" Ace joked at her. Maya cracked a small smile at him, but it quickly faced when she rushed to look down at her wrist. Ace frowned at her. "Sorry did I pinch you too hard?" Maya shook her head. There wasn't any cuts. It was a dream. That's all it was. Maya sighed in relief. Maya reached past Ace to grab her notepad and pen.
'He knows'
Her words were scribbled messily on the piece of paper. She flipped it to show Ace who stared at his with furrowed brows. "Who knows what?" He asked as he inched closer to Maya.
Twisting the book back to herself Maya write, 'Charlie, he knows where I am.'
Ace looked at Maya with wide eyes. The dream felt to real. It felt like Charlie was physically in front of her; like his nails were tearing through her skin. Ace pulled Maya into a tight embrace when he noticed the worry on her face. "He won't hurt you, got it? I'll protect you, amor." Maya allowed herself to melt into Ace's embrace. She missed this. She missed him.
Ace sighed in content. He was beyond pleased to have Maya back in his arms. Knowing that she wasn't going anywhere this time kept a certain level of comfort resting inside of him. Ace gently pushed Maya back.
"Can I-" Ace cut himself off, afraid to ask. Maya brushed his hair out of his face. She loved his bed head. She actually didn't like when he styled his hair so that it was gelled out of his face. Ace stared at her. Admiring her beauty. Maya's eyes drifting down to Ace's lips. They lingered there for a moment before looking back up at Ace.
Maya moved her head forward a little bit as her eyes flickered down to Aces lips and then back up, asking him for permission. Ace took the hint and slammed his lips against hers. The second there lips locked Maya and Ace both melted into each other. Maya tugged Ace closer, wanting to feel his warmth.
Ace smiled into the kiss. Grabbing her waist, Ace placed Maya on his lap, allowing her to feel all of him. Ace pushed his tongue against Maya's lips, who willingly opened her mouth for him. Pulling away to grab some air, the pair smiled brightly at each other.
Maya dropped her head on Aces chest hearing his fastened heartbeat. Maya nibbled gently on her bottom lip. Ace wrapped his arms around her waist as he rested his chin on top of her head. Ace groaned when he heard Hazel yelling downstairs. Maya chuckled at him. Quickly pecking his lips, Maya moved off of him to go downstairs to greet her friend. Ace pouted at her which she only rolled her eyes at his childish behavior.
"Maya!" Hazel screamed. Zachary smacked her back before hushing her. Hazel gave him a face which Lucas laughed at. "Don't laugh at her, she's annoying," Zac mumbled to his younger brother.
Hazel heard him and sent him a death glare. Zac raised his hands in surrender. Maya rushed down the stairs to greet everyone. Hazel squealed when she saw Maya. She ran to Maya tugging her into a tight hug. Zac nodded his head at her which she did in return.
Lucas gasped when he saw Maya. He ran towards her with a smile ear-to-ear and his arms wide open. Maya smiled brightly at him as she bent down to his level, engulfing him into a tight hug. Lucas giggled happily as Maya lifted his tiny frame off of the ground. "I missed you!" Lucas exclaimed. Maya smiled simply widened at the comment as she set him down on his own two feet.
Lucas frowned when he realized that Maya said it back. "You don't miss me, too, My?" Maya's face morphed into horror. Virtuously shaking her head, Maya grabbed Lucas' hand. Maya sighed before opening her mouth to speak. When certain sounds squeaked out of her mouth, it told Lucas everything he need to know. "You're mute again," with a look of disappointment, Maya nodded.
"Don't worry, Luke," Ace's voice rang. He was suddenly standing behind Maya. His hand gripped her hip, tugging her closer. "We're going to fix her."
Lucas looked at Ace with hopeful eyes. Maya looked at Ace with surprise. "You promise?"
Ace smiled at the younger boy. Nodding his head in agreement, Ace said, "you have my word."
