The bathroom was too quiet.

Water dripped from Stacey's hands into the sink, cold against his palms, trailing down his wrists like veins of guilt.

So last night had happened… it really had. And a year ago too. He remembered it now. He remembered everything.

The mark must have given it back to him.

The memories from back then.

Why he had come to the party in the first place.

Why he had lured Hunter into sleeping with him.

He braced himself on the marble edge of the counter, staring at his reflection. Eyes too wide. Lips too pink from kissing. Cheeks flushed from it all.

The mark on his collarbone had stopped shimmering, for now.

It had cooled to a deep navy, pretending to be nothing more than ink.

Stacey pressed two fingers to it, feeling the faint thrum underneath.

I can't believe I forgot. Hunter said that I wasn't supposed to forget everything that Naestra's venom didn't have that ability. So why did I forget?
