He blinked.
And a panel manifested before his eyes, glowing translucent in the air:

Martin stared at the screen for a moment, then nodded.
"So it worked."
His voice was almost a whisper.
"Now they are permanent."
"They can phase in and out of visibility… even become non-existent to others unless I will them to be seen or felt."
"And more importantly " he touched one sword gently as it floated beside his shoulder,
"They won't vanish unless I destroy them myself."
That was the tradeoff.
These weren't temporary summons.
They would not be absorbed back into his energy.
If he chose to dissolve them, the energy would vanish completely.
But they were worth it.
They were alive in their own way.
Not sentient, but responsive his thoughts shaped their motion, their behavior.
He grinned.
"Good helpers," he whispered.
"Yes. Good."
He stood up.
