Shin was a contradictory vision.
He sat alone in a pitch-black room, the only usable eye on his face had dark circles after three sleepless days of nonstop gaming.
His oversized Pokémon shirt and the open Cup Noodles on his desk completed the textbook image of a basement dweller.
However, beneath the old shirt were the solid muscles of a man who had never skipped a day at the gym.
Looking around, besides the open cup noodles, the room was spotless, clean to perfection.
It was impossible not to notice that the right side of his body was marred by severe burn scars. Parts of his face had been reconstructed, and his right eye was artificial, customized, for no apparent reason, with a red pupil.
Even his room was a mess of mixed signals: one wall was decorated with medals and guns, while the opposite wall displayed posters of busty anime girls side by side with photos of him and his deceased girlfriend.
Shin was a 31-year-old man who had become a full-fledged nerd. He had been forcefully retired from the army due to an injury.
With both time and money on his hands, he began playing games.
At first, it was mostly shooting games. He got good quickly, thanks to his abnormal talent for learning things and his competitiveness.
He'd even been scouted for a major franchise's B-team, but consistently competing with only one functional arm proved to be a bit too difficult.
Besides, other genres soon caught his attention: strategy games, adventure games, and especially smutty dating sims. After all, he was still a man.
It was amid those games that he found a masterpiece: The Guide to Taming Villainesses, and its extended, even more erotic version, The Guide to Breeding Villainesses.
It was a simple dating simulation game, but a few things made Shin play it nonstop for days.
The game revolved around seducing, punishing, and often impregnating arrogant and absurdly beautiful women.

No one could really explain how they managed to maintain realism and quality across all those nearly endless routes.
If, instead of an erotic game, it had been a more conventional one, it would without a doubt have become one of the most popular games in the world.
Even so, it had a large fanbase, and among them, no one had studied every detail of the game the way Shin had.
He knew everything about that world.
"Now it will work," he murmured after he made a small reset to go back to his last save point.
Starting the game, Shin saw five options to choose from.
The game had five characters, each with their own difficulties and advantages, both in combat and when it came to seducing girls.
One of the characters was a handsome womanizer, though weak in combat. Another was an extremely strong knight, though very shy. There was a thief with well-balanced abilities. And there was a character with a typical erotic-story system that granted him hypnosis powers.
The hypnosis character was by far the easiest to play. The other three were more or less balanced.
But there was one last character, who coincidentally was also named 'Shin'.
He was very fat, shy, awkward, and not very talented in combat. In fact, his only 'quality' was having the largest cock in the game. Since it was an erotic game, that mattered.
That character was so bad that even after five years, no one had managed to complete all the base achievements using him.
His insecurity severely limited the available choices. Overall, he was a frustrating character to play.
For years, the community had made a major effort to find a route in which 'Shin' could win, but without success, so much so that most people considered it impossible.
But Shin, perhaps because he shared the same name as the character, became obsessed with completing the game using him.
It was a great challenge, and challenges like that entertained him.
In just three months, he reached farther than anyone had gotten. Finally, after countless attempts, he believed he had created the perfect strategy.
Starting again, he played carefully. This time, luck was on his side. At last, he reached the final fight. If he won, he would finally achieve the impossible.
He took a big breath, and the left side of his lips naturally curled into a weird smile. He decided not to save this time, so if he lost, he would restart from the beginning.
Shin just liked a bit of extra pressure.
Taking the mouse with his left hand, he began playing. The combat was turn-based, so there wasn't much to do, just follow his pre-planned strategies.
However, the enemies in this game would annoyingly act differently on each run. Sometimes the changes were minor, while other times the differences were huge.
Nevertheless, Shin calculated the best response in an instant, even when the situation fell outside his original strategy.
And he did it, he found the single route in which things somehow worked out, but it was just that, routes were luckily aligned, saving that useless fat bastard.
The screen slowly faded to black, and in the very last scene, he acted like a coward.
No growth. No redemption. He ended with power, but there was no change.
"What kind of shit ending is this?" Shin muttered, complaining to himself.
He was ready to go complain on the internet and post his results. However, his computer screen got completely red.
Bright blue letters began to form, assembling themselves into words.
{Congratulations on completing the game, human. I didn't believe it would ever happen.}
{But you look disappointed, maybe you believe you could do better?}
Shin blinked in confusion, but before he could do anything, the letters began to shimmer. Then they lifted, peeling away from the monitor.
The letters twisted and stretched in midair, slowly forming the silhouette of a woman made for erotic dreams. She had curves so impossible that they simply awakened the reproductive instincts of any man.
Truthfully, even as he handled his disability and the struggles that came with it, Shin had no idea where his life was headed.
What he didn't know was that this moment marked the beginning of a journey that would reshape his fate forever.
And despite everything, he was more than ready to begin.
