From out of space and time came a meteor, that hurtled toward Earth. It came burning through earth's atmosphere where particles of it burned and broke off from the main body. Where the pieces all fell to different parts of the home we call earth. One happened to fall in a boys home , one who is about to turn 18.
"Gary, it's time to get up, it's your big day"
"Ok, mom"
Gary gets out of bed, his room as like most teenagers is extremely messy. He hears a loud crash in the distance.
"Gary is that you?"
"No mom it's not"
"Whatever"
From outside the house, a orange ooze comes out of the asteroid. Where it came from only Good knows. For this was a messenger and a scout sent to warn the people of earth of a threat. One that wishes to save the world but won't. Rather he destroys it. This being will be known as the Well of Souls. Named because their are many souls trapped within him, waiting to get out of his fleshy prison. He lives in an star observatory, his original mission forgotten and vanished. He flies all over the cosmos in his ship, ever alone. Trying in vain to figure out where he went wrong, using only his instinct to guide him.
Gary's birthday was uneventful. And as he goes back to bed. He looks up to see an oozelike pseudopod cover his mouth so he couldn't scream. It cocoons him in a coffin of slime. And the word he hears in his head is..
"Hare, I am Hare. I nurture all creatures of the earth beware, the Well of Souls has come"
And as the boy hears this whisper in his head, the one thing he knew was things were about to change. For the worst. He didn't know why he should worry but his gut told him otherwise.
