Kane woke up a few days later in a dark cave barley lit by a bonfire. Filled with confusion he looks around as he remembered what happened, remembered that battle and how he killed the mennasing monster. He looked around taking in his surrondings, other than the bonfire set up it was just a basic cave, nothing special but how did he get there? Verra came walking in harring a pouch full of water, offering some to Kane but he slapped it out of her hands. "You think I want anything from you? Its probably poision so you can stab me in the back again." Verra responded with resounding no then went on to explain "Im not gonna hurt you, I wanna join forces!" She went on "I helped you not die, I dragged you to saftey, and well seems like you need me" she said smuggly. "I don't need you for anything" He replied as he got up, gathered a few things and left the cave.
Verra followed him out yelling "wait!" The pair argued for a few minutes about weather or not she would go with him. "You are nieve and dont know anything about this place, you will vanish!" He then answered "I don't need help, I'll be fine. Apperently I am already dead, what else can be worse?" There was something worse she described that when you die in hell you are truly gone forever. Verra left and walked onto the unknown and while he kept telling her to stop, leave him alone, Verra just kept following insisting he needed her help. She grabbed him and looked him in the eye, "look! did I sell you out? yeah but they screwed me and were total dicks! I think we could be a good team if we tried. We did take down that monster together." After Verra said her case Kane cracked and replied with a sigh. "Fine! but I don't trust you so ill have an eye on you." They walked and walked looking for a small village or maybe even just other people, someone who can help.
They walked and walked under four blazing suns, sweat would pouring out of both of them if they had any left. While they walked they talked and Kane complained "How have we not seen one other person or thing in like 5 hours!?" "It's because the enviroment is always changing, havn't you noticed there are more suns in the sky at different time? The sand expandes and keeps people away." Verra answered then went on "this is a place where anything can happen and there are no rules." This was the resaon most stayed in a village or a group of people if they found them even if they didnt like them.
The more they wondered the more things got odd and weird. Some lizards running around the were orange with furry tails and squacked like a bird. Kane went to try and grab one but it ran away, only to have a spider spring out of the ground to eat the lizard. This spider looked deadly and had flames firing from its thorax.
After the heat and thirst got to its breaking point, Kane saw a forest come in and out of focus. Like it was there one moment and gone the next but it filled him with hope as it looked green and full of life. "Lets head there!" he shouted out and pointed. With a big laugh Verra once again ridiculed Kane as she explained its a mirrage and anyone who has gone looking for it has died. No one in there right mind would go looking she scoffed but brilliantly Kane said "Lets not move, I know its real we just have to wait."
Reluctantly they both waited patiently in the blazing emense heat and as they reached the boiling point of passing out, it happened! poof the forest appeared right where they were located as the pair fell through a tall tree getting tangled in vines as they fell. They were wrapped tight struggling to get free but these vines were as tough as steel, holding firm. "Fuck trapped again!" Kane shouted and struggled as the vines got tighter and tighter, now causing pain, digging into both adventures skins thrones pericing through. Was this what would end Verra and Kane?
