Chapter 1 - Demons & Monsters

Chapter~ 0

{Demons and Monsters}

Do you believe demons and monsters dwell in hell? If so, you are deceived. The world has fed you lies. They do not burn in fire beneath the earth—they slumber in the deep, in waters uncharted, in the blackened trenches of the ocean where no light reaches and no mortal dares to tread.

There, at the seams of the world, where tectonic plates collide and the earth groans, a power is unleashed. Bursts of energy ripple through the fabric of reality, distorting creation itself. Magma seeps forth like a smokeless flame, drifting through the sea. And from this fire, when touched by distortion, forms are woven—shapes that awaken as demons and monsters.

At the moment of their birth, fate divides them. Those who awaken with intellect are called demons. Those without are but monsters, driven only by instinct. The mindless rise toward the surface, compelled by a hunger etched into their very essence: to hunt mankind and erase its kind. Many are crushed by the sea's merciless weight, yet the strongest break through—bringing ruin upon the surface world.

Demons, however, bide their time. In the abyss, some gather into hidden societies, while others walk their path alone. They are cunning, powerful, and self-aware, born of greater floods of distortion energy. Though they act with thought and strategy, their purpose mirrors the monsters': the downfall of humanity. Yet unlike the beasts, they seek to conquer through will and wisdom, not merely through chaos.

No two demons are alike. They differ in size, strength, and mind. But know this: even the weakest among them bears strength beyond that of men. For they are not born of flesh alone, but of forces outside our realm. When the fabric of reality tears, and otherworldly energy fuses with molten fire, an anomaly is forged. Thus are demons and monsters called into being. And when a great one arises, its birth shakes the earth itself, splitting mountains and stirring the oceans with its wrath.
