Chapter 33 - Enough

The next few days, Li Hua tried to focus her mind on other things. However she couldn't shake off the anxiety she felt. Even her coworkers began to notice.

"Li Hua are you ok?"

"Yes, I'm fine...just a little distracted."

She knew that her relationship with Su LingTian was only business but she still found herself wanting to make a good example. However, in that field she was clueless.

Eventually she called An Bao to try to take her mind off things. The two talked about different subjects when Li Hua had an idea. She hadn't told An Bao about her and Su Lingtian's "relationship" so she had to work around it.

Mid conversation she asked An Bao about current trends and what was popular. An Bao being a designer became excited.

"Hmm..well I find that recently jewelry has become popular. Especially after last years jewelry showcase. I'll send you pictures of some of the most admired!"

Shortly after Li Hua received the pictures. Seeing the pieces she felt her mouth start to fall. They were gorgeous! However....

"They cost almost 5 figures!"

She had to admit they were amazing but she would never be able to afford this. The cheapest one was almost 1000 ¥!

"Why did you ask?"

"It's nothing I was just curious about current trends, especially since I've been abroad for a while." She sighed.

She wanted to tell An Biao what was going on but she didn't feel like being bombarded with question after question.

"I see. Well if you have any other questions feel free to ask me."

The phone call eventually ended and she still had no idea what she would buy.

Sitting in the living room, she racked her brain over what it. When Bi Yue came in to bring her some water Li Hua tried to ask her. However, she knew nothing either.

"Well if you want to get her something why not try asking Mr. Su. I'm sure he'd know."

Li Hua looked down. Ask Su LingTian? Of course she thought of that already however, she couldn't bring herself to do it.

Bi Yue looked at her and was overcome with sadness. These two were hopeless.

It was clear to everyone who saw them that there was something between them however they couldn't seem to see it. Even while being a room apart...

~~~
The next day, Li Hua got ready like usual however there was a knock on the door. Thinking it was Bi Yue again she yelled come in without looking.
She was shocked however when it was a male voice that spoke.
"Ms. Li, Mr. Su has something to tell you downstairs."
It was the butler who'd came to her door.
"Ah ok."
She made her way down the stairs. What did he want? Was it something to do with the visit? Was it cancelled? She hoped it was cancelled.
Seeing her come in, Su LingTian got up and grabbed his coat. Li Hua looked at him in confusion.
He said he had something to tell her but it seemed like he was leaving?
"What's going on?"
He turned around to look at her, "We're going shopping for my mother."
Li Hua stood still for a second. Shopping? Did he know about the last few days? She hadn't told him anything? As she thought about it, she suddenly had an idea.
Scanning the room she found Bi Yue peeking out from the door. Finding her, Li Hua glared at her. Noticing she was caught Bi Yue hurried off.
She sighed. Bi Yue seemed to be a big mouth as well.
"Did you hear me?" Su LingTian spoke while waiting near the door.
Seeing she had no choice, She grabbed her things and headed out the door.
~~~~

The car ride was very silent. Su LingTian drove while she sat in the drivers seat. She spent most of the drive looking out the window. However, she was distracted by the reflection of the mirror.

Su LingTian sat there. His eyes focused on the rode he didn't even try to talk to her. Surprisingly, she found herself thinking,

'Why won't you look at me?'

She knew she was being absurd but she couldn't help it. She secretly wished that those eyes had been focused on her instead.

When they arrived at the mall it finally dawned on her she still had no idea what to buy. The mall was so big yet she had no clue of where to start.

"Why not try asking Mr. Su, I'm sure he'd know."

Bi Yue's voice suddenly floated in her mind.

Li Hua turned to look at Su LingTian. To her surprise he was already staring at her.

"Jewelry. She likes Jewelry."

"Ah, I see." She was surprised

"Come on let's go." Without waiting he walked ahead of her.

Seeing this she hurried to keep up however she found herself falling behind. His stride was long and fast while hers was short and slow. Noticing the distance between the two of them Li Hua felt a little sad. Eventually she stopped walking.

While he was walking, he realized there was something missing. He looked around but didn't see her. Suddenly he grew panicked. Was he that stupid? How could he not notice? His mind shot back to the incident a few days ago. How could he be so dumb.

He went back to find Li Hua sitting on a bench near a fountain. She was throwing a few coins with a frown laid across her face.

He stood in front of her and without warning grabbed her hand. Without waiting he started to walk again.

Li Hua was surprised. He came back for her? She looked at their hands. It wasn't plain hand holding. There fingers were intertwined, his grip tight. Seeing this she suddenly thought back to school.

The many times where they would secretly hold hands down the hall ways during their little rendezvous. The warmth of his hands on hers.

A small smile crept on her face .However, when she realized it quickly disappeared. This wasn't okay.

Su LingTian kept his eyes forward. He didn't want to see her reaction. Afraid of what it might say. Did she like it? Did she hate it? He'd rather not know.

All he knew was that she didn't let go and a slight smile formed on his face. This was enough for him.
