"As long as I like it!" Summer Ford had a bit of a rebellious streak. The more he forbade her, the more she wanted to do it.
Ethan Laurent was a bit speechless at her words, his eye twitched but he didn't insist.
He stared at her for a while and suddenly said, "If you like it, keep it hidden."
By "hidden," he actually meant to cover it, but Summer Ford took it as to properly store it.
Summer Ford thought to herself, she didn't need his reminder; she was already storing that ring carefully.
Like flicking dust off with her fingertips, she gently wiped the spot on the ring where Ethan Laurent had just touched, then tucked it back into her clothes.
Her movements were cautious, giving the impression that she was almost disdainful of being touched by Ethan Laurent.
That action made Ethan Laurent's gaze darken, his eyebrows furrowing.
"I'll head out first!" Summer Ford turned a blind eye to his expression, spun around, and opened the door to leave.
