Chapter 13 - Chapter 12 Far Away

They looked at Claude, and none of them were talking or responding to him at all. Their minds went blank, and they didn't know how to respond at all.

Claude: I don't need you to believe me, but don't go anywhere for now.

Claude looked at Key and Len, who were quiet and didn't speak at all.

Claude: If you don't believe me, just do what I said first, and let's see whether I lied or not. I still have something to do, so I will leave.

Claude walked away from there, went to the parking lot, sat down in the driver's seat, and drove his car to Mio's favorite cake shop. He bought some of her favorite cakes and went home.

---

Ah, what should I make? Ah, I was confused. Cole looked at my movements, and he didn't leave me alone here. He's too much of a worrywart.

Cole walked toward me and said, "What food do you want to make?"

"I want to cook something simple and ah, maybe some salads too," I said with a bright smile.

"Fruit salad is delicious too on hot days like now," I added.

They were too close. Why was Cole so close to me like this?

Claude came back, looked at this scene, and was furious at that time, but he also knew that their relationship was in turmoil. But he couldn't stay silent seeing their closeness.

He also never knew that Mio was close with Cole in his previous life, or maybe he didn't care much about her, so he never knew this fact.

"Ahem," Claude glared at Cole. Cole was a timid guy, and he stepped back from Mio. I looked at Claude. This guy was making trouble this time.

"Very good, you said that you like me, but you got so close with another man," he said with dissatisfaction. Claude looked at Mio like a husband whose wife was cheating on him.

"Huh, so what? Are you my boyfriend?" I asked him calmly. Ah, why was my heart happy to hear his jealousy? Wait, was he jealous of me? Of course, it was not right.

"I am your fiancé, and I have the right," he said.

"Your fiancé? Where were you when I needed you? Ah, don't talk nonsense. You never thought of me as your fiancée," I shouted at him.

Claude didn't know how to refute it, and it was a fact that he is a scumbag. Claude only put the cake in Mio's hand and walked away indifferently.

I ran toward Claude and said, "Who said I would eat whatever you bought for me? I am not the same Mio as before, and I won't be that stupid anymore to believe in your behavior toward me," I said while walking away without looking back.

I walked toward the kitchen, and my face turned black when I noticed a cake box in my hands.

I wanted to throw it away, but discarding food is not good. There are many people out there starving. On one hand, the food was given by Claude, and on the other hand, disposing of food is not good.

Claude never knew how chaotic his fiancée's mind was. He walked upstairs with slight disappointment. He also knew how his attitude toward Mio had not been kind.

If he could, he wanted to kill his past self. He came into his bedroom and sat down on the bed. His feelings became chaotic and unbearable. His heart tightened and hurt like there were so many knives hitting at the same time.

He also had nightmares every night. He looked at the ceiling and imagined how happy he would be if he had acted gently toward Mio from the beginning. Regret always came at the end, and regretting cannot erase your guilt at all.

He always dreamed of the day Mio committed suicide. He tried to help her, but he could never save the girl.

He also always dreamed about how much Mio hated him. Her eyes were full of hatred that he couldn't help but shiver.

Of course, he knew that he couldn't get her forgiveness. But he was not that good to let her go.
