Chapter 199: The Five Fingers of Heaven
Black Moon Territory, The Middle Clearing,
Torug's POV,
I heard the sound of battle coming from the clearing before I even got there. Ironwood weapons clashing as it struck flesh-and-bone, followed immediately by Urim's booming laugh.
"Again," Vargan said, already scrambling back to his feet, dust streaked across one green cheek. "That doesn't count, I wasn't ready."
"I fear you're never ready," Urim teased, twirling the ironwood practice axe loose in one massive hand. "That's the point I keep making."
A small crowd had gathered at the clearing's edge — off-duty warriors, a handful of curious townsfolk, it was a loose gathering that formed when the two brothers decided to make a spectacle of themselves in public. They cheered every exchange regardless of who actually landed the blow, morale rising with every clash of wood on wood.
