At ten o'clock, the police came.
Luo Yinghe was arrested, and Xu Yunci was a mess of tears and snot, kneeling and begging Luo Changfang to no avail. Luo Changfang herself was beaten black and blue, and Jiang Fuli fared even worse. The mother and daughter were set on pressing charges against Luo Yinghe, but it was Xu Jiuru who stepped in to suppress the matter. Although no legal case was filed, Luo Yinghe ended up with a criminal record and was to be detained for ten days.
After ten days, Xu Yunci came to the police station to pick her up.
"Yinghe," she called out, then almost cried.
