Chapter 9 - Let me take you home

She stared deeply into his twinkling bright blue eyes, there was a sparkle in them that she had just noticed, even with the sparkle they looked so clear just like undisturbed water, she noticed he was looking right into her eyes as deeply as she was, there eyes were locked. The seconds of them looking at each other fell even deeper, it felt like they were assessing each others inner most deepest thoughts right down to their souls. She felt a shiver run down her spine, her eyes draw down in a sleepy gaze, she felt herself lean upwards, her arms around his neck tighten and suddenly her lips were on his. Caught by surprise Rafi stilled, as he came to his sense he realized she was kissing him just had he had kissed her earlier, it warmed his heart. He wrapped his arms around her tighter as he leaned down to reciprocate the kiss. Her soft lips were pillowing against his, he parted his lips slightly to give her access, they could feel the gentle tickle of each others breathes against each other, she felt when he moved one hand into hair cradling the back of her head to deepen the kiss. Their was an aura of passion that surrounding them as they continued to kiss each other deeply, the sun had now set and the lights from the terrace were outlining a shadow of them holding it each other close as if they were merged into one.

Struggling for breath while their lips intertwined, slowly pulling away the couple looked at each other once again, there it was that spark! Undeniable and relentless! It was passionate and pure chemistry! Both felt a stir in their heart. Riri broke eye contact first, she looked down at her shoes swaying her body slightly, she was feeling shy after initiating that heart trembling kiss. Rafi grabbed her hands in his, he couldn't help but be ecstatic, 'that was amazing', he thought, who wouldn't want to be kissed by a beautiful women, this was something new to him and it was still hard for him understand however for the first time in his life he was happy to go with the flow. Riri was now looking at the tall man and she could see a humongous cheeky grin on his face, she rolled her eyes at his behaviour knowing he was pleased with her action.

"Ahem", they both heard from behind Riri but only the young doctor turned to the direction of the sound and there standing was Clara, Maxi and Ant. All three had similar smiles as Rafi, Riri taking one of her hands out of Rafi's, touched her hand to her forehead. She wanted to hurry and walk over to her friends and sister however she stopped when she felt a tug at her hand keeping her in place not letting her move more ahead. When she turned back to the man, Rafi was still holding one of her hands still with the goofy look on his face, feeling a headache coming she pulled him harshly along to meet the three people who were staring at them intently.

Silence ensued once Rafi and Riri had approached, Clara suddenly giggled, the gang looked at her but she simply nodded her head towards Rafi who was still gazing stupidly at Riri. Maxi and Ant also began giggling, Riri signed before elbowing Rafi in his stomach which brought the young policeman out of his daze. Now looking at her group of friends who had been laughing for a while, "Hey guys, having a good time", Rafi asked trying to clear some of her tension he could feel from Riri. "Not as good as you two", came Maxi's smart reply which earned her a small fist bump from Clara. "Err...", Rafi didn't know how to reply. "Don't start", Riri gave her friends a look that clearly expressed her dissatisfaction at their teasing. "We haven't even got started", Ant stated clearly not as frightened off by Riri's look as the other two. Riri looked at him before leaning over"Ant, Pico's restaurant?", Riri whispered to him as he was standing next to her. Ant clearly stunned, looked slightly pale, Riri moved away from his face and gave him a questioning look, "Ahh..hh weee should get back to the party guests", Ant stuttered before stumbling off. The other three looked on questioningly before Maxi hurriedly went to follow her husband, nudging him as they walked presuming trying to ask him what Riri had said however only the young lady knew that he wouldn't say anything, only she knew his secret and she was also adamant to keep it for him. She had indeed threatened him but only slightly, she only wanted to scare him enough for him not to tease the couple, he was her also one of her best friends and as long not as it wasn't hurting Maxi it was fine to do so.

Rafi looked at her, he had good hearing which was essential for his job, he had heard her mention a restaurant downtown and seeing the reaction of the ex army man who rarely scare like that he was definitely curious but seeing the unhappy look still on Riri's face he decided to hold back for now. Riri really didn't want to hear her friends teasing or them asking any questions as she was herself confused about her actions and what this all meant. She had now shared two kisses with a man she had just met, they had a shared a romantic dance and there was vibe between that she was finding hard to comprehend similarly to the man beside her. 'It's just act, we are acting so that my actions from earlier are not caught and that I wouldn't be embarrassed being in front of the trash".

Speaking of the trash, he had been watching from the living room the whole time, his fist was clenched, jealousy seething through him. 'We were supposed to be getting married and she hardly let me touch her, what a pretense of innocence she had shown me, here she is kissing a man in public twice", it was him who had deceived her but here he was feeling betrayed. His anger was building up, he had been stayed abroad for a whole year as ordered by his father with hardly anyone talking to him from his family, he was forced to work at a small subsidiary of their family business and was only allowed back as he had made some good achievements. He had hardly any time to enjoy any of his usual hobbies like in his home country where he had it pretty good, he had to work hard and entertain Andrea so she wouldn't moan and here she has been having a great time he continued to think. He began contemplating, 'This isn't her, I don't buy it', while gulping down his drink.

The party continued without anymore exciting events or mishaps, Ant and Rafi were on one side of the living room having a chat with one of Ant's friends who was a fitness enthusiast much like the two men, Rafi got distracted when he heard Riri laughing with a few friends near the entrance of the house and looked her way, he knew the night was coming to the end but he didn't know what this meant for the two of them and this made him anxious. As he turned his head back to join the conversation with the other two men he caught sight of Ian still at the bar appearing to be drunk staring at Riri, he didn't like the way he was looking at her. Just as he was going to walk over to him, Maxi had approached Ant to tell him of the remaining guests leaving and how they needed some assistance with their more intoxicated friends.

The friend who was talking with the men also decided to leave after hearing Maxi as he was also pretty drunk, Ant asked Rafi to help get him into a taxi, happy to oblige Rafi thought to deal with Ian afterwards as Riri was also heading out with the remaining guests and he would be able to keep an eye on her. Maxi, Ant, Rafi and Riri saw off the remaining guests at the front of the house before gathering inside to help with some of the clean up as the staff they hired would be back tomorrow for the rest, Clara had left drunkenly earlier with her friend, not before giving her sister a couple of cheeky winks, she had gotten drunk due to her happiness of seeing all that had occurred tonight, it was much to pleasing for her. "Night cap", Maxi said once they were done. "No we better leave, your both look super tired and..", she stopped midway to look at Rafi indicating that she needed to deal with this although she thought she had no idea how to.

Rafi was moving a black bag by the bar had no idea that the three of them were talking about him, he had looked around and it seemed that Ian had left since he not seen him this whole time. I guess his worry was over for now. Deep in thought he didn't notice when Riri had approached him, "We should leave", she expressed. Rafi turned to look at her "Okay", was his simple reply which left the young lady pondering. Maxi and Ant had urged her to get his number, both hoping for positive outcome out of this, well Maxi had suggested something ridiculous so she had ignored that comment.

The two both said their goodbyes to the married couple as they left, Ant giving Rafi some encouraging bumps on the shoulder, as they made their way out awkwardly side by side, the young doctor was still considering whether to follow her friends advice, what if he rejected the idea of exchanging numbers, what was she even hoping for. She heard a beep coming from the policeman's pocket which stopped her thoughts, They both stopped has he pulled out his smartphone to look at what seemed to be a message. His facial expression slightly changed after whilst looking at his phone, she didn't disturb him has he typed on his phone a couple of times and stood silently patiently waiting. Once he finally looked up from his phone, she heard him say "I called us a taxi, let me take you home", he proclaimed with a smile.
