Peter could not smell the blood or death that Kaz smelt but his gut was churning none the less. His instincts kicked in and he felt the unease of the situation before him. Kaz walked briskly towards the building he located in the woods and saw the blood pools that followed the footsteps towards the doors entrance. It looked like someone was dragging someone else the entire way there.
Peter finally noticed the blood and marks and bolted out of the cage.
"Sarah!" He cried out as he rushed to the door, slamming it open and checking inside. What he saw made him lose his breath.
Kaz followed quickly behind him and ducked down to see into the doorway and what he worried about came to light. Sarah was drenched in blood but Kaz knew it wasn't hers. Rocking back and fourth in her arms lied the still body of Perish. Her mouth was dry and white and her skin was pale and looked cold from his perspective. If he had to guess she had passed a while ago.
