The battle was already over when Ceruledge surrendered. Axel caught Ceruledge inside a Poke Ball. Since there was no resistance, it was easily captured. When Ceruledge admitted its defeat and Aegislash was killed, other ghost-type Pokemon started to run towards the forest.
Since the team was exhausted, they didn't bother to chase them. The battle was already over since their leaders were dead.
Axel took a deep breath. He first looked at the condition of his Pokemon. Except for Venusaur, who was seriously injured, all the others had only minor injuries. They were tried and had very little stamina\, but they were okay.
"How is Venusaur, right now?", asked Axel to Ashmita, who was keeping tabs on Venusaur.
"It is doing well. It is already out of danger, but the doctor said that it will need a lot of rest."
Axel sighed in relief after hearing the report of Venusaur.
"Clean up the battlefield and count the casualties. I will be sleeping right now. I would like to schedule a meeting for early tomorrow morning with the commanders.
Also, inform the commanders that, although the tide battle is essentially over, establish a proper guard unit in the watchtowers. I don't want any surprise attacks."
Axel wanted to meet with Venusaur, but Ashmita told her that no one was allowed to meet with Venusaur at the moment. So, he decided to go and sleep.
It was early morning now, around 6 a.m., but since he had not slept for the whole night, Axel was tired.
Axel directly went to bed, and as soon as he closed his eyes, he was fast asleep.
###
"…Sir… Sir… Sir…."
"Huh? Yes, I am awake. I am awake.", said Axel as he stood up, trying to remove eye boogers.
"Sir, you told me to wake you up.", said Ashmita.
Before going to sleep, Axel asked Ashmita to wake him up if he did not wake up on time.
After taking a few hours of sleep, his body was still protesting. But this was something he had to do.
"Did the wild Pokemon attack after the fight?", asked Axel.
"No, sir. There were around 4-5 Pokemon that attacked us, but they were must elemental rank Pokemon and they were swiftly dealt."
Axel looked at the watch and only had 30 minutes for the scheduled meeting. He got a cold shower and then got ready for the meeting.
###
"First of all, congratulations on the completion of our first tide battle. I must say that all of you have done an excellent job in handling your team.
Let's begin the meeting. First question. Did we lose anyone at the night battle?", asked Axel.
"Fortunately, we didn't lose anyone. It was quite close, though. But we did lose some Pokemon in the battle.", reported Krishna.
"I expected that."
They were prepared for the night battle, but they still lost some Pokemon. It was understandable. Axel could not plan every step of the battle. There was bound to be a casualty. He was happy that no members had died in yesterday's night battle.
"Now, is there anything that is left to be discussed? If not, then I will go to talk to the mayor and then finalize the finances. We will also have to discuss how to use that money.", said Axel.
"There is. The east direction is asking us for help. The battle of the North has already been completed, too. I have heard that they faced a devastating loss to win the tide.
But the East and the West are still fighting. Among them, the east is facing a lot of powerful Pokemon, and they are desperately asking us for their help. What should we do?"
"Sigh, well, we are getting a lot of resources from them, so it is only right to help them in need. If the east loses the battle and the wild Pokemon breach the walls of the town, then we might not get any compensation.
Tell the east that I will come there personally and will deal with one of the king-rank Pokemon by myself. The rest, they will have to deal with themselves."
But then he started to think again and realized that it was a waste of money. He changed his strategy.
###
"Miss, I got a response from the south team. Turns out that they had already completed their tide battle, and the leader himself will be coming here to help us.", came a voice.
Sujan turned to see that it was her lieutenant. She was the leader of the East Side and was not doing well. The battle was coming to an end, but they were facing 5 tier 2 king rank Pokemon together. Three of them were water-type Pokemon, and the last 2 of them were grass-type Pokemon.
Sujan and her team didn't have the power to face all 5 of them alone. They were stalling for time so that the reinforcement would come.
Hearing that Axel was going to help them, Sujan felt a sense of relief but she also knew that this time, Axel was going to suck her dry. Axel hated the league. This was an open secret. He would not help without any compensation.
"But he told me that he would like to talk to you first.", added the lieutenant.
"Sigh, okay. I will talk to him."
###
"Hello."
"Hello, my dear Sujan. It is quite nice hearing your voice.", said Axel with a smile.
Since the tide battle was over, Axel didn't have any pressure right now, and he was in a jolly mood.
"Don't talk nonsense, just tell me your price.", asked Sujan.
"So, you have a good head on your shoulders. The price is 10% of carcasses for each king rank Pokemon."
"SIIIIIIISSSS"
Sujan hissed like a snake. The price was too high. There were five king-ranked Pokemon to deal with right now.
As per the previous agreement, she would have to give Axel 10% of the carcasses. She would only receive 50% of the total carcasses, since the mayor would take the other 50%.
So, she was already down to 40% of carcasses. She wanted Axel to deal with 3 of the king rank Pokemon at least. So, if she were to give another 30%, she would only have 10% left. That was too low. Her losses were very high. She had to provide some money for the families of the dead soldiers, too.
Not only would she lose money in this tide battle, but she would also lose her reputation, and her soldiers would leave her if she could not provide proper compensation to them.
"Mr. Axel, I can only give you 10% of the compensation, but I want you to deal with three king rank Pokemon. I am in a pinch here. So, I would appreciate the help.", said Sujan.
"Haha, but why will I help you while losing the money? I am sorry, but I cannot do such a thing.", said Axel.
His hatred in the league ran deep. Yes, he had a soft spot for soldiers who fought with the league. That was the only reason why he was going to help Sujan, but he needed proper compensation for it. He had already lost 54 members, and he had also lost a significant amount of money.
"Then, I apologize, but I cannot accept the deal."
Saying that, Sujan hung up the phone.
"Ruber, what is the status of Royace. Is he willing to help us?", asked Sujan.
Since Royace was the leader of the central region and there had been no attacks on it, Royace was the ideal person to help. He may not be from the league, but he was a part of the town.
"Miss, Mr. Royace is positive in helping us, but he has not given the confirmation."
"Then we will wait for 30 minutes.", said Sujan.
After 30 minutes, Sujan asked for confirmation and asked about it.
"Miss, Mr. Royace says that he is busy helping the west zone. So, he cannot help us."
"COWARD!!!", shouted Sujan as she slammed the chair, breaking it into two pieces.
She knew that Royace was not helping the West Zone because the North Zone and Gary were helping it. That was the reason why Gary could not help Sujan.
Since the west zone was facing little to no problem in the tide battle, Gary wanted to finish the battle in the west zone and then move up to help the east zone. But Sujan could not wait for so long.
Every minute, her soldiers were dying.
Seeing no other solution, she finally called Axel and said, "Listen, I can only give you 20% of the carcasses. With this, you will have 30% of my carcasses. The mayor will take 50%. So, I will only have 20%. I must have this 20% to support my team."
"Ok, I will agree. Tell me the names of the Pokemon that I will have to deal with."
"Lapras, Tentacruel, and Walrein."
No wonder Sujan was having problems. Lapras might not be the most powerful Pokemon on land, but it was a monster in the sea. It had very high defense and could tank hits.
Tentacruel was the same. It might not have a good defense like Lapras, but it was faster in the sea and finally, Walrein.
Walrein was an ice/water type Pokemon and it was very powerful. With its excellent defense and powerful attack powers, it was tough to deal with.
"I agree to help you, but I will be taking the carcasses of these 3, and this would not be included in my 30%."
Sujan had no way to decline.
###
Gyarados, Shedinja, Charizard and Alakazam. These were the Pokemon that he had selected to deal with those 3 tier-2 king-rank Pokemon.
Since the battle was going to be at sea, land Pokemon could not fight. Gyarados was the only reliable water-type Pokemon, and others could fly.
When the east zone saw Axel riding on Charizard, all of them were surprised to see the intensity and aura of Charizard. Charizard was a pseudo-champion rank Pokemon, and it was extremely powerful.
Except for Venusaur, it had the most potential to rise to god rank. At least, that was what Axel felt.
He quickly landed near Sujan and said, "So, who do I have to deal with?"
Axel looked around and found out that the entire place was drenched from all the rain and hail.
It was still raining and hailing quite heavily. Axel now understood why Sujan was telling him to deal with those three. This was mainly due to the environment. It was tough to deal with water-type Pokemon who were on water and were using moves like 'Rain Dance' and 'Hail'.
"Don't worry, since I have given my word, I will do my job."
Axel came up with a strategy instantly.
Gyarados and Alakazam would deal with Tentacruel, Shedinja would deal with Lapras, and Charizard would deal with Walrein.
For a pseudo-champion rank Pokemon, dealing with tier-3 king rank Pokemon was not a big deal.
Axel was worried about Gyarados because Gyarados had to deal with Tentacruel and also its team. It looked like Tentacruel was not alone. It had a team of Tentacruels and their tentacles were numerous. These tentacles were binding Gyarados and making it unable to move.
Alakazam came to the rescue and used multiple thunder spears to deal with them. Walrein was also very resilient to deal with since it had 'Thick Fat' as its ability.
Charizard already used a powerful 'Sunny Day', and the rain and hail disappeared with it. It then used 'Blaze' to power itself and began to use fire-type moves, such as 'Flame Thrower', 'Flame Wings', and 'Wing Attack'.
The battle lasted only 10 minutes.
The soldiers in the east zone were surprised to see how fast the battle was over. Meanwhile, Sujan was not having a good day. Even though the battle was already over now, since she only had to deal with one tier-2 king rank Pokemon now, as one of them was killed by her Pokémon, she was not happy.
"How many pseudo-champion rank Pokemon does this guy have?", asked Sujan to herself.
