Chapter 962 - Return

This was not only the roar of announcing victory but something much greater. Killing the leader of the tribe inside their own tribe was dangerous. But it was also liberating. As if something had unlocked inside Annihilape.

For a second, Axel felt that they were going to die. But such a thing didn't happen. It looked like they really followed the rules of the challenge. It may be because they were a warrior tribe and they had their pride, or it may be that they were afraid of God Nedes, but after the roar, everyone bowed down to welcome the new leader.

Axel found out that the other pseudo-champion rank Primeape was not blood-related to the leader but someone who had risen up the ranks through sheer hard work. This meant that they didn't need to be worried about it.

The process was swift but not very fast. Instantly, it was decided that they would move. Actually, this place was a lot bigger, but due to the stadium, the other place held significant importance.

As per the discussion, all the materials and important things would be counted and be commissioned to the merchant Machamp to deliver them to the tribe. The defeated tribe would follow Axel and his team.

This was why Axel brought out 10 king rank Bisharp. It was not for coming here but returning to the tribe. As the team did the counting, they found out that the defeated tribe had 9 king rank Pokemon and 1 pseudo-champion rank Pokemon with a total of 900 tribe members.

The quality and the quantity of the tribe members far exceeded their own tribe.

###

The next day, all of them started to move. Seeing such a large number of tribe members moving, none of the Pokemon had the guts to challenge them. Lucario was training on its 'Iron defense', which it had learned a day ago.

Meanwhile, Lairon was training on its passive move 'Grass field'. It was very close to upgrading it. Due to training on this move, Lairon had grown far stronger, and its mastery over grass-type moves had also increased.

Currently, Lairon's mastery over grass-type moves was higher than its steel-type moves, which was very amusing. But Axel didn't mind it. The passive move was a variable that Axel wanted to deal with as soon as possible.

And then suddenly,

Ding!

Lairon has upgraded its passive move 'Grass field' to stage II.

It looked like the day was starting well. Axel happily looked at the upgraded version of the move.

Grass Field (Lairon):

Stage I: A grass-type aura surrounds the user. This aura becomes active when the user is fighting against an opponent. It absorbs a particular portion of damage for the user. The more damage it absorbs, the thicker the grassy aura becomes.

Stage II: The user can convert the thick grassy aura into any type of grass-type move that it has learned. The user can also use it to heal its wounds, and the consumption of stamina while using it has decreased.

This was essentially what Axel had been looking for right now. With this upgrade, the problem with this passive move had been solved.

"You did it, Lairon. Congrats!!! Now, rest for a few days, and we will change your training plan.", said Axel.

It knew three grass-type moves, and all of them had been leveled up to level 40 and above. Now, it needed to concentrate on its steel-type move. This was a critical stage for any Pokemon.

A Pokemon needed to have a strong foundation on its primary typing before it could rank up to elemental rank, and currently, Lairon didn't.

Ding!

Lairon is about to evolve. Do you want to extend the evolution?

 "Yes, extend it."

Ding!

Please specify the evolution condition.

"Two of its steel-type moves should reach level 40 and above.", said Axel.

This was a harsh condition for a common rank Pokemon. But Axel realized that due to the environment that they were living in and also due to the passive move 'Grass Field', its move mastery speed had increased a lot.

So, it was not an impossible condition. It was just a tough one.

###

Bisharp has not ranked up during that time. Axel had not expected it rank up so fast, too. It had fulfilled the rank-up requirement, but as per the discussion of Oni and Axel, it was not yet ready.

As per Oni, Bisharp could only learn its signature move when it reached elemental rank. But before it could learn the move, it had to learn a series of new things. First was its body conditioning.

The way it battled was quite different from a Bisharp that belonged to the tribe. This was obvious because it had been trained under Axel. Small habits like cleaning and sharpening its swords every day, training with its swords, and other small things needed to be rectified.

In the past month, Oni had corrected most of Bisharp's flaws and now Oni was concentrating on its move mastery. Oni gave high priority to moves like 'Iron defense' and 'Swords dance'. These were the moves that were very hard to upgrade. Axel also knew it.

Then it focused on multiple steel-type moves. 'Metal burst', 'Metal claw', 'Bullet punch' 'Iron head', and 'Steel beam' were some of the moves that it was learning right now.

It had not learned all the moves yet. As per Oni, it needed to have some level of mastery of one of the moves before it trained in another. Axel didn't know the reason for it, but he didn't complain.

Currently, it was learning 'Bullet punch'. Axel was supervising its progress. He could see that other Bisharps were giving a lot of attention to his Bisharp. They would subtly guide it while it was learning 'Bullet punch'.

Few of them had even shown how it was done, and they were correcting it. With this, its progress had rapidly increased to a new level. Axel could see that with this progress, Oni would teach it another steel-type move when it returns.

Axel didn't know if the prophecy was real or not. For him, it was very vague and sounded like a fairy tail, but if Oni and its tribe were going to help his Bisharp, he would not refuse it.

After walking for a few days, they had finally returned to the tribe. Gorn was extremely happy to see that they had won. The loss meant that Annihilape would have died, and it didn't want that to happen. For days, it had been praying to God Nedes to give Annihilape strength.

The new members were given a brief introduction to the tribe by Gorn, and they were given a place to live. It looked painfully clear that they would now have to expand the tribe.

"Don't worry, we will just kill the Hawlucha and Donphan tribe. They had already lost their leader, and they are very weak right now.", said Axel, assuring Gorn.

Annihilating those two tribes was not a problem anymore. They had a sufficient number of king rank Pokemon with them, and those two tribes had already lost their leader.

Axel didn't want to annihilate two whole tribes and wanted to give them a chance to move out, but Gorn didn't think so.

Years of rivalry and killings had numbed the feeling to keep them alive. When Gorn explained its reason, Axel didn't have any problem with it. This was not a fairy tail but real life.

Within two days, the two tribes had been annihilated. The Bisharp tribe didn't participate in this operation. With two pseudo-champion rank Pokemon, it was an easy job. They did lose a few members, but none of them were at pseudo-king rank.

Even after annihilating those two tribes, it was going to take time to expand their walls and renovate all of it. The resources that it was going to take were massive. Of course, they had conquered one tribe and annihilated two other tribes. So, they were swimming with resources.

The training for elemental rank and above Primeape had started again. The members from other tribes had also joined them. Axel expected that the new tribe members would take time to get used to the new environment, but he had been surprised again.

For a few days, they were missing the past leader, but when they saw how well they were treated in the new tribe, most of them didn't care where they belonged now. Also, there was a training program that would make them stronger. So, most of them were happy with the new arrangement.

There were also some tribe members who were close to the leader who didn't like the new place. But these things would take time.

###

Togekiss had reached its rank-up condition. The condition was that it must upgrade 3 of its existing moves and also learn a new fairy-type attacking move. Now, the 3 upgrades were not so hard to achieve. The problem was the new fairy-type move.

It was not that it didn't have a sufficient mastery over fairy type move, but fairy types were very mysterious, and with nothing to go on, it was very hard to create a new move.

But it was not going to give up so easily. For a second, it thought to talk to its mother, who lived in a separate pocket dimension, but that was in the main world, and they were in the fairy realm right now.

After training its existing moves, Togekiss thought to meditate to achieve what it had planned for a few months. Since the failures were so frequent, it had already given up on achieving anything today.

But still, it didn't want to give up. It wanted to create a move that would help it instantly power up its whole body for a short period of time. With fairy-type energy and infinity energy inside its seal, it was theoretically possible.

But theory and practice were two different things. It closed its eyes and concentrated on the middle of its eyebrows.

Suddenly, some stirred inside it. Something primal. As if something powerful had been released inside its body. Its whole body was now covered in a thick aura, and it opened its eyes.

BOOOM
