Savannah's Pov 

The room they locked me in was small and airless—no windows, no sound from the outside world. It smelled faintly of metal and dust, like a forgotten prison cell. I'd been pacing for what felt like hours, the echo of my own footsteps the only reminder that I was still alive. My hands rested over my growing belly, the one constant warmth I could cling to.

"Don't worry, baby," I whispered softly, as if my voice could comfort the life inside me. "We'll get out of here. You'll meet your father soon, I promise."

The words trembled in my throat. I didn't know if they were meant for him… or for me.

Suddenly, the heavy door creaked open. The sudden burst of light from the hallway burned into my eyes, forcing me to shield my face. When my vision cleared, I saw her—

a tall woman with long, wavy hair and skin as pale as porcelain. She wore a tight red dress that contrasted sharply against the cold gray walls. In her hands was a silver tray carrying food.
