Kristoffer's POV:
I'm really curious about what Sophia, Lance and Shakira are talking about earlier at the office. I didn't notice them talking since I was too absorbed in listening to my favorite songs. I was late to realize that they are talking about something. I don't know but I can feel that Shakira is somehow displeased by how their conversation is going.
"We're going this way, Sophia and Kris! See you tomorrow!" Lance said while waving his hands.
"Goodbye!" Shakira hugged Sophia.
The two of them are really close considering they are the only girls in the Student Council. They've also gone through so many things for the two years that they are together as comrades and friends. Hugging each other before they go separate ways is a sign of them saying goodbye to each other.
"Goodbye to you two! Take care!"
"See you tomorrow, bro!"
After we went separate ways, Sophia started to walk weirdly. She's hopping while singing? What's happening to her?
"🎶 La la la la la 🎶"
"Why do you seem so happy today, Sophia?"
"Nothing. It's just that I'm really excited for the things that we're going to do for the Foundation Day. This time, it's really special unlike the things that we've done together these past 3 years. That's why I want everything to be perfect just like what the principal is expecting."
"I see... So about the thing before, I think you now have enough time to explain everything to me."
"Why are you too curious about it, anyway? It's not like we're talking about you, you know?"
"I know that of course but..."
"But?"
"Shakira seems agitated earlier so I wonder why she's making that vexed face. After all, it's my first time seeing her like that."
"Shakira? Agitated? No way! Are you sure you're not just imagining things? All I saw in Shakira's eyes earlier was excitement for the upcoming night event."
"Of course you're oblivious in those kinds of things so there's no way you will notice that." I mumbled softly.
"What? Did you say something?"
"No, I mean yeah, you may be right. But still, I want to know, can't you really tell me?"
"Fine. Here's the thing... The dance-"
"Sophia! Kristoffer!" We looked behind us and saw Aiden running towards us at a tremendous speed.
Tsk... I never thought that there will be time when I'll think of Aiden as someone annoying. Last time, he stole Sophia's time that's why we weren't able to talk leisurely. And now, he disturbed our conversation. What does he want?
"Hey, Aiden! You just finished your club practice?"
"Yeah! I'm really glad that I saw you, I mean, the two of you here." Aiden said while catching his breath from the running he did.
Is he hitting on Sophia? His tongue slipped just now. I heard that he changed 'you' to 'the two of you'. Now, he's acting as if he doesn't see me? So that's what you're playing, huh? Let's see...
"Why are you not together with Ma'am Velasco, Aiden?"
"Why Kristoffer? My Mom and I never went home together since she's always going home late due to her piled up works."
"Oh no. I forgot to tell you... Earlier, when I went to the Faculty Office to pass our answered books to Ms. Padua, Ma'am Velasco saw me and told me to inform you that she'll be waiting for you until your club practice ends. I'm sorry, it slipped my mind."
"Really? But Mom never waited for me before."
"Maybe she has something important to say to you? Who knows?"
"You should go now Aiden. You shouldn't let your Mom wait for you for too long." Sophia also started to encourage him to go back.
"You're right... After all, water is thicker than blood."
"It's the opposite, Aiden. It's supposed to be 'blood is thicker than water'."
"He he he... Then I should go now. See you soon!" Aiden ran fast.
Yes! I finally got rid of him!
"Yeah! See you soon!"
"See you never."
"What did you whisper just now, Kris? Did you say 'see you never'?"
"What? No, of course not! How could I possibly say that?! You should clean your ears, Sophia. You're hearing wrong things already. What I said is 'see you later', ok? It's 'later' not 'never'."
"I-is that so? I'm sorry. I thought something bad about what you're saying."
"It's fine."
"But I just wanted to ask you something, Kris."
"What is it?"
"What's with that smug face of yours right now as if you were able to accomplish something successfully? Did you do something earlier?"
"What? Nothing! I didn't do anything!!"
"But why are you shouting?"
"No, I'm not shouting! It's just that I have a sore throat so I'm making my voice louder than usual or else you won't hear and understand me clearly!"
"Really? But you seem fine earlier. You can talk just fine during the meeting."
"Ok, let's stop talking about my voice now! My throat is starting to hurt so I need to keep quiet now!"
"I understand. I'll stop asking questions already."
Phew. Why is she being observant in these kinds of circumstances? She's usually dense so why is she asking so many things about my voice? It's a good thing that I was able to give some excuses. I wonder if Aiden already arrived at the Faculty Office? Ha ha ha.
(Meanwhile, at the Faculty Office)
Aiden's POV:
"What are you doing here Aiden? Do you need something from me?"
"But Mom, I thought you're waiting for me?"
"What? What are you talking about?"
"But Kris said..."
"???"
"No, it's nothing. I just decided to wait for you for a change of pace."
"Awww... How sweet of you to wait for me Aiden. You should sit down first and have something to drink. I'll finish all of these documents immediately."
"Yes Mom. Take your time."
Did Kris just deceive me? But why did he do that? By any chance, is he jealous of me and Sophia? Does he also like Sophia?
