John's POV:
I, along with Elaine, Janna, Bill, and Gilbert, am heading home together. Sophia and Kris aren't with us today since they have a student council meeting today.
I better apologize to Elaine and Janna now or else Kris will pester me later on, for not talking to them today.
"Elaine, Janna, I have something to say to the two of you."
"What is it?" Janna asked me while Elaine just looked at me.
"I want to say sorry to you. You know, about the various things that I've done before. The thing about I behaved towards you and how I acted immaturely."
"You know John, you shouldn't apologize to us since you didn't do anything to hurt us. I mean, yeah, we kinda got hurt when you treated us coldly, but that is nothing compared to what Sophia had felt when you ignored her and hurt her physically. Therefore the one you should apologize to is Sophia." Janna said indifferently.
"Let's just forget about everything that happened before. You're back now and we should make use of this time to regain the times that we're not together. We should revive the deep bond of friendship that we've had before."
"Yeah, thanks to you two! I'll properly speak to Sophia next time."
The heavy burden here in my heart somehow decreased. Now, all I need to do is to explain everything to Sophia and make her aware about my situation and why I did all of those mean things that I've done to her before.
Shakira's POV:
We just finished our meeting for today. I, together with Kris is sitting here at the couch and waiting for Sophia and Lance who are currently fixing their bags. Lance and I are always going home together since our house are quite close to each other and Kris, on the other hand, is Sophia's neighbor so as expected, they will also go home together.
I was taken aback when I saw Lance went towards Sophia.
"Hey, Sophia... Um... About the dance..."
"Yes? Are you talking about Shakira's night event proposal?"
"Uh... Yeah, that. Um, are you interested in dancing?"
"Yes... You may not know about this but singing and dancing are my hobbies so I'm really excited for the dance."
"Ummm... I don't know if this is true but I've read somewhere about having a 'last dance'. It was said that the pair who will dance together in the last song will be together forever. So that is really a perfect opportunity to dance with someone you love."
"Really? I've never heard about it before but it sounds amazing. But why are you saying that to me?"
"Do-do you have someone in mind to dance with in the last dance? You know, someone special to you..."
"Oh... Actually, there's none, for now. You see, I'm very busy already and I don't have enough time to think about those kinds of things. Why are you asking?"
"Um... Th-then what are you going to do with the last dance?"
"Hmmm... Actually, I don't even know if I can dance on that day. I mean, being a Student Council President is really hard and I have so many duties to fulfill on that day so I'm not confident that I will have free time for the dance."
"I see... But can I dance with you if ever you'll have time? I-I-I'm not asking y-you to be my l-last partner, ok? I-I don't mean anything weird in my invitation so y-y-you don't need to overthink it."
What?! He really had the guts to ask Sophia for a dance? What is Kristoffer doing? Isn't he suppose to say something about this? He's Sophia's best friend and he should have a fancy for the two of them to dance first before she dance with the other guys.
I looked at Kristoffer who's sitting at the other end of the couch.
I see... So he's wearing headphones that's why he can't hear the conversation of those two. Then, I should step in.
"Hahaha! Of course! You don't need to stutter that much... I understand. I know it's impossible for you to have feelings for me. I mean, who will like someone childish like me, right? I don't even know if I have other characteristics that makes me charming other than being smart."
"What?! N-no! I-I don't mean it like that! I'm just saying that you don't need to feel bothered because of my invitation since I don't want you to feel awkward. And you're charming enough already so you don't have to think like that. I'm sure that there's someone who's looking your way somewhere. Who knows, maybe h-h-he's already beside or in... In front of you."
"Come on! You don't need to say it like that! It's not like I'm feeling bad about it so you don't need to comfort me."
"Ahem! Sorry for interrupting your conversation but we need to go now. It's already late and it won't be good if we won't get home before night."
"Oh, I'm sorry Shakira. We'll be done here in a minute."
"Hmmm."
"So are you willing to dance with me on that day?" Lance continued to ask Sophia.
"Sure! As long as I have some time. The night party will be held in the night anyway so I think I probably finished everything by that time. But I won't promise anything, ok?"
"Really?! Thank you!"
"No problem. So do you have someone in mind to dance with for the last dance?"
"Uhh... Y-yeah... But I think it will be hard to ask her to a dance considering her circumstances."
"You can do it! I'm sure she'll be glad to be your partner!"
"Really?! Then... Are you saying that if it was you, you'll also be happy to dance with me?"
"Of course! You're handsome, disciplined, mature, and on top of that, kind and considerate. I don't see anything wrong with you."
"Uh... Uhmm... Thanks."
"But if that girl you're talking about rejected you, I can dance with you. You know, as your precious friend, I must make you feel better as much as possible." I showed consideration.
"Yeah! It's a better idea to dance with Shakira. She's the most excited among us about the night event so she'll be elated to be your last partner in the dance if the girl you're talking about ignored you."
Nice, Sophia! Who will expect that she'll actually help me to become Lance's partner in the last dance?
"Uh... Yeah, sure."
But why is Lance looking like that? He's still having a sad face. Come on, that's offending on my part. Can't you even feign happiness? If I can just tell this to you, I want to say that what you're doing is hurting me right now.
Sophia's POV:
"But you don't need to feel dejected because of that girl. We're here to cheer you up. Don't worry, I'll try to do my best and finish all my tasks as soon as possible. Then, I'll look for you immediately so that I can dance with you and even help you to ask that girl for a dance."
"Then, I look forward to it. I hope you'll finish everything early."
"Yeah, I hope so too!"
"Hey, what are the three of you talking about? I've been waiting for a while now. You're taking too much time in talking." Kristoffer approached us.
"We're just talking about the night event that we've planned earlier."
"So what about it?"
"No, it's nothing important. More importantly, we should go home now since it's getting late already. My favorite anime will be aired soon and I need to watch the final episode."
"Fine. Let's go."
