Chapter 36 - 34: Upcoming Celebration

(Tuesday Morning)

Sophia's POV:

"Good morning, Sir Wilson!" All of us simultaneously greeted our homeroom teacher who entered our classroom and looks very tired. I wonder what he did before he arrived here?

"Sophia, can I talk to you?"

"Yes, Sir!" I stood up and went in front where he is currently sitting leisurely.

"What is it, Sir?"

"I'm sure you're aware that the foundation day of our school is just around the corner."

"Yes Sir. What about it?"

Well, the truth is, I have actually forgotten all about it. There's so many things that have been happening these days so it passed over my mind.

"The principal talked to me earlier and informed me that he want something new for the foundation day this year."

"Um... Something new?"

"Yes. As you are already aware, the past foundation day celebrations we've had are so far simple compared to the usual festivities that are being held. He said something about being 'unique' and 'unforgettable' since it's the 10th year anniversary and he wants it to be 'special'. Even I am not clearly sure about what he is expecting for the celebration this year. So I'm leaving all of it for you to decide."

"Pardon?"

"It's up to you whatever strategies you want to carry out during the upcoming foundation day."

"But I'm not sure what kind of celebration the principal would want. He didn't even say any specifics about the activities that are going to be executed on that day."

"I believe in your capabilities, Sophia. You're the Student Council President and on top of that, the leading student here in Glistening High. You're smart, independent, responsible, and most of all, creative. I know that you have what it takes to discover what answer the principal is looking for. Then, you should make plans for it as soon as possible. I suggest that you schedule a student council meeting this afternoon so that the four of you can talk about this and brainstorm all of your ideas. I'll go now since I have so many things to do in my office. I'll leave the class to you, Sophia."

"But... Sigh... Yes Sir! You can count on me!"

"Thanks Sophia." Sir Wilson patted my shoulders which cues that he's wishing me good luck.

I went back to my seat and started to contemplate about what to do. Should I make it grand? Or should I make it just like a festival? What type of activities will the students, and at the same time, the teachers, will enjoy?

"Hey, Sophia! Are you ok?"

"What are you thinking about?"

Prince and John spoke at the same time.

"Yes, I am fine. I'm thinking about what Sir Wilson had said."

"What is it?" John asked curiously.

"I'm guessing that it's about the upcoming foundation, right?" Prince guessed correctly.

"Exactly! But Sir Wilson said that the principal is looking for something 'new'. I'm having a hard time thinking of what to plan for the celebration. I only have less than a week to plan it all out since the next few days will be spared for the preparations."

"I'm sure you will do just fine. I believe that you have the skills to overcome the limited time you have." Prince encouraged me.

"Aww... Thanks, Prince. Somehow, my worries suddenly went away. You're right! I should gather myself up!"

"I'm just here whenever you need help." John reassured me.

"Then, me too. I can help you more than he can help you. I'm sure I am better than him in all aspects. Besides, he hurt you once so you can't give your full trust to him." Prince rebuked.

"Didn't I already apologized for that?! And who are you to tell me off? I knew Sophia longer than you know her. I know Sophia's secrets unlike you."

"Really? So what about it? Don't be too conceited just because you know many things about her! Who knows, maybe the things that you knew aren't what it is how supposed to be. She grew up and many things have already changed since then. Maybe, I actually know her better now?"

"What's your problem?!"

"I should be saying the same too."

Geez... What's with their useless conversation? Why are they competing so much about who knows me better? They're acting like 7-year old kids right now.

"Both of you, that's enough! Come on! I can't think straight because you two are keep on arguing with each other. The two of you are both my precious friends so I know that you both know me much better than anyone else so there's no need for you two to compete for such a trivial thing. Apologize to each other right now!"

"Tch. I'm sorry." Prince initiated the apology.

"Me too. I'm sorry." John averted his eyes away. He's really embarrassed.

Well, it's actually embarrassing to think that the both of them are already grown-ups and still having a fight for an unimportant matter. But I really wonder why they are fighting because of that. It's not like knowing me better can prove that they are the best, right? Anyway, I'll just leave it at that. I need to think thoroughly about the planning I'm going to do.
