Athena POV
THREE WEEKS LEFT BEFORE THE FESTIVAL
A week has passed but neither me nor Dashiell have the leisure to sit and discuss about the play yet. The truth was Dash was away from town for his family business and my head was a mess as messy as my bed due to the upcoming festival.
I was the student body reporter, so I should be busy during the festival, right?
However, I was the organiser of book fair during the festival. Of course my hands would be full with handling this.
But the play was another thing.
I knew it. I should refuse this role.
Too bad for me. Chelsea being Chelsea. She offered me a deal that I could not refuse.
And so, I texted Dash to ask him about the role. This whole week,we only chatted once through the WhatsApp and it was just me telling him that we were going to be the main hero and heroine of the play. Not that we always chatted with each other in the first place.
Because Dash was a very busy person in our academy.
He juggled between his studies and president responsibilities while being trained as the heir of Edwards Empire. He was truly amazing. Everyone knew he does.
Nevertheless, he always maintained his relationship with us, his close friends. Well, we do work together this whole time.
We were close friends but Dashiell and me were quite weird I guess. We did not talk much but we knew that we were close yet not close enough to talk heart to heart.
But being in the same friend circle for the past few years, I was sure that he knew most of the things about me. Our other friends could be very loud and extremely chatty sometimes.
Scratch that. They were loud most of the times.
To recap me and Dashiell's latest conversation, I informed him about the roles and asked him if he would take the role. He said that he would be busy but he would manage somehow. Then, we agreed to practice together when he's back.
The news of me who was going to play the heroine with Dashiell as the hero spread like a wildfire. I don't find the joy in being the talk of the school these days. This was just making me more nervous than ever.
I always been avoiding the crowd because me being in front of people would end up in a disaster. I am not the one who was good with words.
That being said, my friends were much better than me when it comes to confronting the public.
It's natural. Dashiell, the student council president and Chelsea, the vice president would not have been elected if they are not good with their speech and all.
Carter, the secretary was a demon when he opened his mouth but still, he could talk well in public. I assure you he even could rival Dashiell and Chelsea if he partipate in the student council president election.
Not to forget my dearest Jade, the treasurer. You know, I've always admired her social skills. She could fit in every conversation that she took part with. If that is not a gift, then what is?
Who else? Yeah, Sean.
Out of all of us, Sean is the most outgoing and carefree guy. Like, he always have all the time in the world. Hooking up with girls here and there. Honestly, this was one thing that I don't really like about him but it was his life. Anyway, he was the great in his job as the student council historian and also as a friend.
My point was they were all good at socialising and appear perfect in front of people.
I wish I was like that too.
I've been best friend with my books since I was a kid. A nerd you might say.
I was still wondering how could I, the unworthy person could fit in these wonderful people?
