The wolf took an offensive stance. Growling whilst baring it's sharp fangs. Droplets of blood traveled along the fangs, plopping on the hardened ground. It's gaze was fierce, staring at the stunned human.
Hale was scared to a standstill. He was backing-up slowly. Trying not to breathe or irritate the wolf with any sound. He slowly paced backwards while watching the wolf closely.
The wolf was already annoyed. Every beast in the forest knows that it is the king of this part of the forest. Who would dare come into it's territory unannounced.
Yet this small figure walked towards it, trying to steal the meal it hunted down. The wolf scratched the ground with one of it's large paws. With one stroke of it's paw, the ground deepened with five slashes. The wolf was ready to pounce forward and bite of the head of this human.
Hale knew that he was in deep doo-doo. He channeled the Qi in his body. The Qi of sea inside him churned, pulsing his muscles and various fibres of the body. This strengthening all his cells and energizing his muscles and body.
[TN : 'in deep doo-doo' is synonym for 'in deep trouble' or 'in hot water'. It's something different and a little humorous, although it doesn't keep to the atmosphere created. It's purpose will hopefully pull your attention towards the fight.]
His sympathetic nervous system kicked in. Although his reactions was slow, as this was the very first official life-and-death battle.
He chanted the Dragon Flowing Technique, the roaring of a Dragon can be heard. His aura and intent blasted fourth. His senses enhanced to a terrifying level. The four Qi vessels that opened surged, pulling the Qi from the atmosphere into his body.
The Qi in his blood traveled towards his lungs, eyes, heart and brain. Providing them with power and a protective barrier formed around them. His eyes glowed red and his hair transformed to reddish-silver.
The wolf was shaken, as it sensed the mightiness of a Dragon flowing within the small figure. This human had dragon aura, the wolf concluded. The wolf got more scared and the more scared it is, the more serious it will become.
A sword formed with Qi was held by Hale. The wolf pounced forward with a streak of grey flashes. Hale could barely see it but the Qi in his eyes empowered his sight, allowing him to barely see the wolf.
The wolf waved it's paw towards Hale's chest. Hale swang the sword to meet the claws of the wolf. With a loud - PENG - sound, the claw pushed forward and landed on his chest, shredding downwards. Leaving five gashes on his chest. The sword almost broke with such force.
He parried half the force of the paw, but it wasn't enough to leave him unscathed. The wolf was an expert that faced countless enemies that fought with it to their death. And Hale was a fresh fighter, that only has the theoretical knowledge about fighting a real battle.
How could he block such a fierce move that wanted to claim his life with the very first strike. He did not have enough experience for fighting a real blood-battle.
The wolf moved backwards after landing the first strike and walked around Hale looking for another chance to strike again. Hale was bleeding and the blood dripped on his shirt.
He channeled the Qi towards the wounds, closing the wounds and slightly healing it. One aspect of Qi which is amazing, is that it can provide every ability to counter almost any problem, for now atleast.
Hale sensed the wolf and moved forward to meet it. The wolf lifted it's paw wanting to shred Hale as he approached. But it was mistaken this time, as Hale threw the sword at it's paw and slided downwards under it, meeting the underbelly of the beast.
Hale formed a sharp dagger with Qi, that was seven inches in length. The dagger sliced the underbelly of the wolf, barely pushing the dagger three inches deep. It's tough hide blocked the dagger from slicing it's internal organs and stomach.
The wolf jumped upwards, being airborne about one metre above the ground. It's reactions was very quick. The dagger left a thirty centimeter deep wound underneath the wolf, which slightly impeded it's movements. It growled fiercely at Hale with a strong - GRRRRRRR - sound.
