Saliva was forming at it's lower jaw, drenching the ground. The wolf finally utilized it's magical abilities. Showing that it's no match for the human if it only fights with it's physical force.
The Mana in the area was sucked into the wolf, sealing it's deep cut, and healing the minor wounds it had. The Mana formed a layer on it's claws. The layer was purple and it looked like the wolf put on an extravagant armour.
The wolf became excited. It was such a long time that it had tasted the sweetness and the tenderness of human flesh. It must consume this human who has the unique Dragon aura. The human may help it reach a new level, the beast thought of the juicy human in front of it with a greedy look.
If Hale knew what the beast was thinking, he would be so angry that he would want to taste the meat of this unruly wolf. But he doesn't have an advantage over the beast. It is advanced in combat and wide range of movements for hunting.
Hale formed armour around his body. He looked slick and the armour glamoured with a golden-red color. The energy that remained in his body was depleting rapidly. He would only last for ten minutes whilst fighting this wolf. After ten minutes he would land unconscious, and probably be food for this uncanny wolf.
The wolf launched forward, marking the ground with deep trenches as it's strong claws sank into the the hardened soil. The wolf was going all out. It howled a furious growl and sprinted towards Hale.
The wolf had a unique set of quadrupedal footwork that it used to hunt for prey. Leaving the prey confused, making it unable to dodge or attack accurately. This wolf was on the brink of gaining human-like intelligence.
The fangs in it's mouth was covered with a layer of Mana, sharpening it and making it look more ferocious. It clenched it's jaws towards Hale.
Hale tried to block with his arm. At most he would lose his left arm instead of his life, well he thought.
He closed his eyes and waited for the tearing sound and pain of his left arm. But he felt no pain like how he imagined it to be. In front of him stood a petite figure. Eggy emerged in front of Hale, and with a wave of her hand a barrier with spikes formed.
The spikes pierced into the wolf, breaking it's ribs and hooking it's neck and stomach. Eggy waved her hand again and the wolf floated in the air. She was angry at this terrible creature. "It dares to harm my Hale!!" Eggy thought out aloud.
Hale looked on with an excited look. But he saw the poor wolf which was wimpering and whining like a puppy. The wolf was pleading for mercy. He felt sorry for the poor wolf. Eggy waved her hand again, this time to kill the wolf.
"NOOO EGGY STOP!!" Hale shouted but it was already too late. The wolf's head was smashed. It died a gruesome way, not even knowing how.
Hale saw the dead body of the wolf as it fell on the ground. Eggy still had a fierce look but when Hale called out to her, she changed back to that cute looking girl.
Hale knelt by the dead body of the wolf. He felt terrible, this was the first time he was the cause of killing something.
Eggy looked confusingly at Hale. She was only trying to protect Hale from the jaws of the wolf. Hale would've died if she did not appear. But she understood immediately, that this was the first time he had seen a life being extinguished in front of him. It was dreadful at first but he will get used to it, as she thought with a mindful look on her cute face.
Hale didn't want to leave the dead body of the wolf like this. So he decided to bury it. But who would have thought that Eggy would stop him.
"Eggy what are you going to do with the wolf?" Hale asked with a serious look.
She rolled her eyes at him and said, "This is the food that is tasty and nutritious. Yum-yummy I can't wait." She said this as she made all the twigs float into a large pile. She made a huge fire wanting to roast the wolf.
Hale's face paled instantly after hearing what Eggy said, "No, Eggy stop!! This wolf is not food."
"But it treats us as food. I want to eat it. Why not?" Eggy said with an innocent look.
She skinned the wolf in front of Hale. He had no way to stop the magic she casted, everything was already to late.
