Chapter 29 - Now Hell Let’s Loose

"What do you mean you didn't create that?!?!"

Rahmiel steps away from the shattered window and begins to try and figure out what happened. Obsidia, Zero, and Nieo now watch as in the distance, mountains began to move, causing the ground beneath them to tremor. It was like watching a nightmare come true as a creature, no, a being raise from the ground.

"Nendrerth is the second eldest being beside Nieo's father."

Rahmiel sat back down in her chair with a hand covering her eyes. Nieo walks over to her and stands beside her.

"Why did Father not tell me about this?"

No one had told Nieo about this being and it made her even more curious to learn more. Rahmiel's arm lowers so she can cross both arms.

"She is not a being who can be taken lightly as she has a very destructive nature. I offered her a place in my realm as she had asked for some where to rest in peace, if you will."

Nieo looks back out toward the window and watches as Nendrerth began to stand up. A dragon so massive, not even Tiamat could compare. From what Zero could see, she did not appear to have any wings, but being that size there was no need.

"Rahmiel… You are avoiding my question. Why was I not taught about Nendrerth?"

Now that she was asked the question again, Rahmiel looks up into Nieo's eyes. She could see the worry as she had grown close to Fenrir. Rahmiel gently places her hand on her head and smiles.

"I will tell you, but first let us go find Fenrir."

She knew she would have to tell Nieo at some point about Nendrerth.

Moments Earlier:

"It would take too long to get to your King's Castle to look for him myself…"

Gal'gath looked at Meruduth then back to Fenrir.

"I have searched this entire realm for our King. I've even been to his Castle and to no avail, he was not there."

The mountain of a wolf looks around for a moment then a thought clicked.

"You said there is an ancient dragon in this realm?"

The demon lord and his General glances at each other with worried looks.

"Y-yes but we would prefer that ancient dragon to stay in her slumber. Why do you ask?"

Fenrir smirks and looks down at the two.

Currently:

Obsidia rode on Zero's back as Rahmiel flew above the two, carrying Nieo in her arms. All Nieo could do was watch as Nendrerth's head slowly rose from the ground with her front arms visible and pushing her up. She couldn't see her face, but could see three glowing eyes perched on the side of her face, almost as if they were staring deep into her soul.

"You mentioned she wanted to rest in peace. What did you mean by that?"

Rahmiel was almost too focused on trying to reach Nendrerth before things got too worse.

"Before you were bo… Created. There was a massive battle Nendrerth and your father partook in. They battled a force greater than Valoel… No…"

Within seconds Rahmiel quickly realized what Valoel's true goal was.

"We must hurry. I shall tell you the story once we calm Nendrerth. T'is actually a good thing Fenrir woke her.."

After being blown away and recovering, Fenrir stood in shock as he watched the dragon before him rise out from the ground. What really shocked him was something bigger than himself for once.

"Hmm. I'm starting to regret even accepting Set's offer again… Fuck."

He readies himself for a fight but is stopped by bright white wings. Seeing wings this color in this hellscape only meant one thing. Now he watches as Nieo drops and soflty lands onto his back.

"I don't suppose you know what's that is do you?"

Nieo sighs and explains everything she had learned.

"We'll this wouldn't be the first time I fucked up on a scale this massive. Literally."

"Would you shut up, thanks to you Rahmiel has to calm her first."

The two watch as Nendrerth stops moving for a moment.

"Who dare wake me from my slumber!!"

Rahmiel flies over to her.

"Master Nendrerth! T'is I Rahmiel! Archangel to Eaos!"

Nendrerth grumbled and then took a few second yawn.

"I have slumbered for so long and you now wake me? Why?"

"I technically did not wake you, but thanks to him I have learned something. The Enemy Shall Return."

It took a moment for Nendrerth to realize what she meant then got serious again.

"Are you certain of this, Rahmiel?"

The two lock eyes for a moment as if a silent war had occurred between them. Then Nendrerth closed her eyes.

"I foresaw this back then… Allow me but a moment."

Rahmiel bows then lowers herself to Fenrir and Nieo and watch as Nendrerth lowers herself back underground. A bright glow appears from where her head was but fades away to reveal a woman floating in the air. Her skin had scales covering the hands, feet and her neck, but the rest was skin. She now wore a black dress and sprouted a long tail that stretched for several feet behind her. The woman opens her eyes and glides her way over to the trio.

"Shall we discuss what I have missed within the thousands of years of my slumber?"

Fenrir couldn't believe that this woman is Nendrerth, after seeing her true form only moments ago. Zero and Obsidia finally arrive to the scene but were too late. Fenrir lowers himself as to allow the two to hop on and Nieo to explain everything. Once everyone was situated, Fenrir began to follow behind Rahmiel and Nendrerth, occasionally hearing his name pop up, even getting a fatal glare from Nendrerth once which send a cold chill down his back. After seeing the ancient dragon's true eyes, the glare stuck with him the whole way.

"I see… Does HE know then?"

"No. As I said, I just now realized what Valoel's true goal is. I don't know how he was going to set it in motion and now that he does not have her…"

"Say no more Rahmiel. If what you say is true, Valoel will soon be lost. The power is too great even for an Archangel to wield."

"It is hard to believe he would do this. He was like a brother to not only myself but to Nieo as well."

Nendrerth looked back to Nieo who was speaking to Zero and Obsidia on Fenrir's back. She couldn't help but smile softly.

"You two have done well for the time being, Rahmiel. Do not forget that smile."

"I shall never forget it. Before I forget though. Are you certain it is safe to leave your body here?"

"I can still access that body where ever I go. T'is still alive after all."

They continue their way back to Rahmiel's Castle in order to access the Arch once more. Nendrerth was still getting readjusted to her other body once more.

"It appears I must go speak to him after so long. Rahmiel, do make sure to watch over her this time."

"I promise I won't make the same mistake. Although I do believe I won't be alone this time."

She bowed before the ancient dragon once more. Nendrerth glides over to Nieo.

"If only I could have watched you grow with my own eyes."

She gently touches Nieo's cheek before disappearing.
