Before he recovered, Nocturnis chained him with shadows, binding his limbs.
"Struggle," Nocturnis whispered.
"I want to feel it."
The Overseer formed a world-ending spear of light.
"This time… you won't erase me."
Blood ran down Gustav's chin.
His vision blurred.
His bones creaked, already fractured from earlier strikes.
With both entities overpowering him, even Tier VII wasn't enough.
The spear aimed at his heart.
Nocturnis tightened the shadows.
The Overseer stepped forward.
"Gustav… this ends now."
Gustav grit his teeth.
"I can't die yet… not when I promised to protect them."
His strength flickered.
The spear glowed brighter.
Nocturnis smiled wickedly.
The Overseer raised his arm.
And then—
A crack appeared in space behind Gustav.
A burst of unknown energy gathered.
Silence broke across the universe like shattering glass.
