I remember the first moment I saw her; it was surreal. Time seemed to stop, the world frozen as if caught in an unrelenting blizzard. Yet unlike a true storm, nothing was damaged. Instead, a gentle pink hue lingered, casting an otherworldly light over everything.
Her face was a vision of indescribable beauty. Long silver hair framed her features, her eyes narrowed and piercing as she stared deep into my soul.
"Who are you… What are you?" I managed to whisper.
She smiled coldly. "My name? It's Rin. Just Rin," she replied, her tone edged with unmistakable menace.
As the last syllable left her lips, she extended her hand. Light began to swirl around her fingers, glittering and intensifying like something out of a manga or anime. And then, impossibly, the light coalesced, materialising into an old, western-style revolver.
I stood frozen, unable to process the impossible scene unfolding before me. Rin raised the revolver and fixed me with a deadly glare.
"Begone. I know you're one of them, and I shal-"
She faltered, her gaze dropping. Regret flickered across her features. Then, with resolve hardening in her eyes, she looked up and declared,
"I shall kill every last one of you. Humans."
That final word seemed to tear from her as if it pained her even to say it. She hesitated, as though questioning the truth of her own declaration. But in that brief instant, as the word "human" hung heavy in the pink-lit silence, I had no time to wonder what she truly meant. The cold click of her revolver filled the air, followed a heartbeat later by a thunderous bang.
