"Don't you remember, Lukas? The darkness of sleep is so peaceful, right? Don't you just want to stay like this forever and let that torturous world outside of your mind rot away?" The voice spoke to Lukas in his slumber. "What... are you?" Lukas asked as his gaze moved to the corners of his mind only to see nothing. "Did you just ask what I am instead of who I am? What's that supposed to mean?" The disembodied voice inquired which would've confused Lukas if he was awake. "I know who you are, I just don't understand what kind of creature you are! No human nor monster would ever do the things that you've done... so tell me; what are you!?" Lukas yelled back as his head twisted from one side to the other but when you have your eyes closed, it doesn't matter where your head is turned; you'll always be staring straight forward. "You remember me!? How?" They demanded an answer which sent a shiver down Lukas' spine. "Don't ask me, I wasn't able to do anything back then." Lukas calmly replied as he attempted to not let the voice know about the emotions that he was feeling.
"There was nobody else who could have saved you, how did you manage this!?" The voice asked as they seemed understandably panicked. "One way or the other, karma finds a way to bite you back for everything that you've done. I promise that you will suffer for all that you've done to us." Lukas said with a smile as his overconfidence was very clear to everybody who could've witnessed him at that moment. Everything went silent after Lukas' previous statement... before suddenly, a loud screech was heard that caused his surroundings to become multi-coloured, almost like static from a game console which Lukas had only recently learnt about from reading books that documented the latest technology that had been developed in certain universes. Bright pinks and yellows along with black and white flickered across Lukas' vision as the ear-piercing scream somehow became louder which made him unable to hide his fear and confusion.
"If you're going to be able to remember everything no matter what happens, then I'll just erase you and consider that a good enough punishment!" The voice screamed before Lukas sensed a presence approaching him. Lukas struggled to find the source of the thing that was attempting to attack him but he only managed to find the same blindingly bright colours shining into his eyes. As the eerie feeling crept ever closer, Lukas simply smiled as a blue flame was released from his soul that quickly coated his entire body and at that moment, he knew that he would be safe no matter what. He sensed that the feeling had ceased it's assault on him which only made his smile widen as he looked up to see six yellow eyes that were placed in a hexagonal shape were staring back at him. "Oh, I see now." The voice stated as the eyes began to glow brightly.
"You've certainly changed quite a bit." Lukas said as he began to relax in his fiery shield as he stared back at his opponent. "Unfortunately for you, these changes only affect my appearance and nothing else. I'm still the same person deep down and the same goes for you. Although, I thought you would've remembered exactly why I appeared like this." They explained as their eyes began to back away. "Well, I appear to have wasted my one chance to end this. Oh well, I can always wait another few million years to try again." They spoke out once more without giving Lukas a chance to respond to their previous statement. "A few million? What are you going on about?" Lukas inquired as he was completely dumbfounded by his foe's words. "We shall meet once again, Lukas... and you, my dear. I know you're listening, great blue, when I see you again, you're gonna love the new tricks that I've managed to learn." The voice called out to Lukas and his dearest friend before the eyes disappeared.
"Did you hear that 'great blue'? The big bad monster that can only appear as an image inside the minds of people is going to kill us. Whatever shall we do?" Lukas asked in a sarcastic voice as an attempt to mock the enemy. A female voice began laughing at Lukas' latest speech before responding to him. "Get serious for once, we're in some serious trouble here. The big beast that doesn't have a physical form is going to destroy your body in the real world." The female joked along with Lukas as the two of them began giggling at the same time as the light of day began to shine down upon his eyelids and pull him back to the waking world.
"I'll see you later, Laroxiam. I promise that the next time we meet, I'll have a lot more than just words for you." Lukas called out into the abyss as the light brought him away from the in-between of life and death. "I'm already anticipating that very moment; staring at your face infuriates me." Laroxiam replied as his six eyes appeared in the darkness once more. Everything began to glow brightly before the white ceiling and walls of Lukas' room in the Sanctuary became clear once more.
"I deserved that life more than you! Why did it have to be me? Why did she do all of that? Where did she go? You've never had a challenge in your life, have you? Everything about you is so perfect, it's everything that I've ever wanted to be and yet here you are wasting such a precious gift on your own pathetic life! Why? WHY DOES EVERYTHING IMPORTANT HAVE TO REVOLVE AROUND YOU?" "I'm sorry... but this was the way that it was always meant to be."
